How do you remove players from waivers in roster editing?

I am working on porting a 2006 roster from MLB the Show 19 to the default roster for this year. I like using real players when possible, even if the current model is much older like using Francisco Liriano's 2020 model for this 2006 roster. Unfortunately, guys like Liriano and Martin Prado have the blue W next to them in the roster and I cannot figure out a way to remove the blue W. The blue W prevents me from actually playing with them in the game.

If anyone has a fix for this I'd greatly appreciate it.

Try to trade them to new team. This removed the waiver issue for me.

That worked. It didn't remove the blue waiver logo but I can use Liriano now. Haven't tried with Prado yet, though he didn't play much in 2006 so it's not as pressing of an issue.

I remember when I traded Felix hernandez back to Seattle I edited his attributes and when I started my franchise, he did not have the Waiver "w" anymore.

That's good to hear. The plan for this is to eventually make this roster playable with franchise. I already have all the 25 man rosters done from last year, I just need to port it but I want to flesh out the minor leagues before I start a franchise with it.

Re: How do you remove players from waivers in roster editing?

I havent updated with patch 1.06 yet but I did have custom roster imported in franchise and on last day of St I set all of the 40 man down to 26 for each team. Advanced to regular season and not one waiver even on auto. Very happy about that. My All time teams roster is in tact for regular season. Good luck with 2006. I will check it out once complete.
