Franchise - Players with real Tommy John Surgery

What’s the best way to deal with high profile procures who are out for a long time with a tommy a John in Franchise?

I’d like to avoid 30 control because I would like to keep control of my team but let the universe around me develop organically.

In the past I believe A Ball minors helped.

When you are in Franchise, go to Settings and set Injuries to Manual. Then go to Injured List and press R1. You can set injuries for any player on any team. I did this for the major injuries, including Thor in my Mets franchise. Then you can go back to settings and set injuries back to on.

I figured it all out. Finally read enough about 30 team control to figure out I could set it up like I want.
