Desperate for help
I’ve played MLB the show since around 2014 and every year prior to this one, been pretty decent online. Not great, but held my own with a record a little above .500. This year however I am getting destroyed online it’s becoming unplayable for me. I am desperate for any help or tips anyone can give me.
I’ve been playing Diamond Dynasty and feel like I have a good team overall. My lineup consists of players in the 80’s and my pitching should be good, I have Oreo Hershisher, Ohtani, Carasco, Severino, and a few other decent starters.
I’ve been playing at least one full Diamond Dynasty game very day, sometimes 2 or 3 games. So far my record is about 10-23 (but 3 or 4 of those losses are from disconnects when the game first came out). I struggled at first, but at least won some games. It’s gotten worse the past week and I haven’t won a game all week, or even come close.
My team ERA is almost 5 but is probably closer to 7.50 this week. As a team I’m probably batting about .200 or less and averaging 2 runs a game, probably less than 1 a game this week.
As far as pitching I’m giving up tons of homers, extra base hits, and a lot of slow grounders are hit in just the right spot and and through the infield. Even when I get a perfect release I’ve given up hard hit balls or home runs. I’ve never come even close to being this bad at pitching.
As far as hitting, my timing is terrible. I’m either late on fastballs or early on breaking stuff. If I try to compensate and swing early on fastballs, I end up swinging at balls way out of the zone. If I wait for breaking stuff I can’t hit the fastball and still end up early on the off speed stuff.
When I do manage to square a ball up it always ends up as a line drive right at an infielder or outfielder. I haven’t hit a double in I don’t know how long. I usually use the contact swing, I’ve tried power swing but it hasn’t made a difference.
Also seems like when I do get a good timing swing and it’s a strike, I still miss it.
