M20 1986 Roster PS4

Hello all. I wanted to officially state that I am currently working on creating a 1986 roster. This is a favorite season of mine because of how good the Browns were that year. Lots of quality teams in 86 throughout the NFL.

As always, this roster will be as close as I can get to replicating the NFL of that year. Equipment will be accurate to the players during the 86 season, or at least as close as Madden allows.

Most of you are familiar with my ratings and my rosters in general. I am trying some slight modifications for some positions. The changes mostly affect RBs, WRs, TEs. The goal of my new approach is to spread out the ratings and make sure that RBs make good decisions.

So what is different: for RBs, for top tier RBs, the BCV will be higher than I have used in the past. Some mid-range RBs will also be a little higher, but AWR may be lower. Also, in an effort to increase fumbles, I am lowering the CAR rating from my normal range. Nothing dramatic, but hopefully noticeable in game. Also, Catching and route running ratings are more spread out

WRs: The main thing here is I am trying to spread out the route running ratings to better reflect the difference between players.

TEs: Taking advice from Tommycoa and his years of testing, I am dramatically lowering TEs route running. With very few exceptions, DRR will be in the 20s-low 30s. MRR: 30s-40 SRR: 35-45 There will be guys that are exceptions, but you will not see TEs who run routes as good as WRs. This results in TEs all have a very similary OVR. I do not like that, but I do believe that it dramatically helps gameplay.

OLINE: Very little change here except I am trying to provide a greater range of ratings so that again, the top guys really stand out.

DLINE: No changes here from my normal ratings.

LBs: No changes

DBs: No major changes, as normal for my classic rosters, to help emphasize the more physical play style that was allowed, the Press rating for CBs is relatively high.

These are all being tested as I work on the roster. So far, I really like the way the game is playing.

I currently have the AFC East and AFC Central (except the Oilers) complete.

I hope to finish the Oilers today and then will move on. I have not yet released the roster, but will at some point before it is finished so folks can play what I have and test and provide feedback.

Another element that I forgot to mention with this roster is the use of the Sense Pressure trait.

In past rosters I have not done much with this for most players outside of QBs. However, this roster is going to be different and I am interested to see what the effects on gameplay truly are.

In the default roster, most players are: Trigger Happy. However, there are a few with other settings here and there. So, I am making some changes.

Many star level players will have Ideal
Most starters (but not all) will have Average
Some starters and backups will be Trigger Happy
Many backups will be paranoid or oblivious depending on who they are and how they played.
I want to use those traits to create a better difference between players who might otherwise have similar ratings.

I am also making more use of Plays Ball in the Air Trait. It seems that has always been a defensive trait, but I decided to use it for WRs, TE, and RBs as well. Will it make a difference? I am not sure. But I think it is worth a try.

You will also notice a few more Big Hitters on defense. By no means will that be out of control, but I think in past rosters for M20 I have nerfed that trait too much, so I want to bring it back a bit. Remember, in the 1980s, big hits were still encouraged.

For RBs, I am also using the Covers Ball trait more widely. I am hoping this allows for more fumbles as well.

Also, if you have any thoughts on traits and the effects on gameplay, please share them.

By the way, I just finished the Oilers. I will be moving on to the AFC West

I decided to splurge on ea access to play Madden for at least one month lol

I tried to download your playbooks and was having a lot of difficulty. I hear unfortunately that isn't unusual.

I was able to download 80srunheavy and singbk3wr. No amount of logging out and logging back in and quitting and restarting would allow me to download the others.

If it isn't too much trouble, could you reupload your playbooks? Or maybe someone has a tip to get it working properly.

I will try later today to reupload them. I need to change some descriptions anyway.

The issue is with MaddenShare and EA servers. Nearly everytime I get on and play Madden, it does not log me into the servers. Generally that is fine since I never play online. But when I want to download or upload anything, of course I need to be online. So, I go to sign-in. It ALWAYS tells me it cannot sign in the first time. So, I try and try again. Sometimes it take 2 times, other times it is 5 or 6 times before I can log into online feature. Then, to MaddenShare I go where often it will let me download one thing right off the bat. Then, it says "error" after that. But I keep trying and usually it eventually works. Now and then I have to log out of Madden completely and restart the process. It is a pain and has been the last few years. I do not understand why it is such a problem.

I will post on here when I upload the playbooks again.

All of my playbooks have been re-uploaded to MaddenShare. Don't know if it will help those struggling to download, but give them a try.

I did not change the names, but they all have today's date for when they were added.

Thanks for reuploading. It still doesn't work! Lol I tried downloading other files from other creators and I get error messages on all of them. Maybe I need to clear my cookies lol. I'll try again tomorrow
