Eliminating (lessening) Fatigue

I’m fairly certain that the fatigue model in this game is broken. It has always been broken and near as I can tell I can’t fix or less the effect. I shouldn’t have guys with half their energy left after a three game series. There literally are not enough days off in the league calendar to get guys to 150 games played. I haven’t found a way to get rid of fatigue completely or to slow down that slider. I also cannot run a 5 man rotation without having to use a sixth guy after one round through the rotation. Bizarre to me. I shouldn’t have to use my bench so much. A week into the season my whole bench has 10+ at bats.

You can get guys above 150 games. It just depends on the durability rating of the player.

You also don't have to rest a player. If I have a player on a tear, I will play him regardless of fatigue. If a player is struggling and is tired, then I will sit him.

The system is not broken per se. And unless it has changed this year or theres a bug, you shouldn't need to use a 6 man rotation.

Re: Eliminating (lessening) Fatigue

I don't think of it as fatigue. I think of it as playable injuries/general wear and tear. You can keep playing a player well into being tired, but once you hit zero, you're risking debuffs and more risk of injury.

For pitchers though, try raising pitcher stamina. I played with pitcher staminas at 8 last year. The effect isn't as dramatic as it sounds, and I found it not only helped maintain a 5 pitcher rotation, but also seemed to help the CPU with bullpen decisions as well.

If it's the same as last year, then you'll start losing effectiveness on your primary pitch when your pitchcount reaches your stamina number.

I really just wish there was a slider to lessen it. I can understand giving a guy a day off once a week, but twice a week is excessive.

I guess I’ll just keep running the guys into the ground. I will also adjust the pitcher fatigue up like mentioned because starting a game with like 75% stamina because of the 5 man rotation is not ideal.

I edit all of my players that play over 150 games a season in real life to have 99 durability. That helps a little.

Re: Eliminating (lessening) Fatigue

I play quick counts. I have human starter stamina at 9, CPU at 8. Pitchers generally get to right around 100 pitches before they turn yellow. They are almost always fully rested for the next start unless I really push them the game before. User reliever stamina at 3 for both. It forces me to manage my bullpen, but almost always have rested relievers. I do find that cpu relievers are a bit drained so I may bump that to 4.

For position players I’ve not found the issue to be that extreme though I’ll tend to sub for guys that are getting low on fatigue if I’m up or down a bunch. Or if I’m playing AL I’ll rotate guys through DH.

I do this too when possible to avoid resting hot guys.

Something that I have learn is in editing players, I moved durability on everyday players to 100. Players take longer to tire out
