Custom Leagues in 20 - How to get a single-player league

Okay, this post will be a quick one before I go to bed, but I wanted to start a thread to get this info out there. Here's my short post-release experience:

I made a 4-team league using my main account and sent invites to the child accounts I have. I set the league to use DD teams and had my child accounts join and immediately quit. This worked.

I ended up with a 4-team league with 3 CPU teams and was not required to advance to the Regular Season (i.e. begin the league) with the human players in.

A couple of notes:

  • The CPU will control the departed user's DD team as configured at the time of departure.

  • Invites may not work until the invitee has initialized his DD team by entering DD and doing/skipping the tutorial. I sent the invites first, then started the game for the first time using my child accounts and ended up having to re-send the invites.
I didn't try anything else. Not enough time and I have to go to work in the morning.

Re: Custom Leagues in 20 - How to get a single-player league

Thanks for posting this! If anybody is able to test whether a burn account can rejoin the league after abandoning a team (so if you have a single burn account, is it possible to effectively create multiple CPU teams with that one account as described in the post by @omegaminus) that would also be useful.

This would be a good way for a player to have a single player custom league with say all AL or NL teams for example.

I'm not sure about DD teams but it is possible using the MLB teams. I did it multiple times last night testing this out.

Thanks! Looking forward to getting to know the league management features with a practice league full of CPU teams.

Was that with one invite or did you have to re-invite the second account each time you had it leave the league? My experience was that after leaving the league, the child user would have to have been re-invited since the 'pending invites' went to zero.
