Jumpshooting Coach (in practice) Custom Jumper GLITCH ???

Ok, so i just got beyond the point where you get the shooting coach in practice and where you get the custom jumpshot. or you get the ability to use custom jumpers.

Here's the issue. The moment i completed that practice. i went into a Rec game. I was bricking like crazy, now before that if left open i was hitting at a 55% clip from 3's, and probably around 60% or so from mid range. again, wide open. i only had 5 shooting badges before i got the custom jumpshots.

just to be transparent.

My badges were(all bronze)

- Range ext

- Dead eye ( i had this on silver but dropped it to bronze to get quick release)

- corner specialist(i added this right after the custom jumper practice)

- quick draw(i added this after dropping my dead eye from silver to bronze)

- Catch and shoot

- Difficult shots

shooting ratings:
3pt: 78(maxed) + a skills boost
mid range: 85 (maxed) + a skills boost.


Now i'm bricking like crazy in the rec out of the blue. i can't get a full bar any more. it keeps stopping say an 8th of the way to full no matter if i hold it longer or not. if i hold it a little longer it goes beyond that point and bounces back. we're talking the shot bar.

So the game is over and i go into my animations, low and behold ALL of my basketball animations(not emotes) were all pushed back to either normal or nothing(all my dunks were on nothing out of no where). it looked as if i never equipped anything, no dribbling packages, nothing. except for emotes when you walk around in the park.

So i go and equip everything back, and change my jumper back to the one i had before i got a custom jumper(which i dont need for my shot). i go back to Jumpshot 38. setup all my other animations again.

Go into a mycareer game. and same thing, now this time i can feel my jumper has changed from that default jumper. but i can barely get a green when wide open. the bar refuses to go all the way full. its catching right before it gets full every ...single...time. now i'm thinking i only added quick draw on bronze, that should slightly increase the speed. so that SHOULD mean i need to release it a little sooner, not later Right? but thats not whats going on at all. so i go into my apt gym and start shooting around just to see. same story. So now i'm paranoid and i then create a nice custom jumper with the base of 38 and a nice mix. looks smooth, no extra movement. so i work on this shot in my gym, its a bit more green lights now. but still no where like before. i go into another career game. same story i cant catch a green to save my life. i go back into the rec. brick brick brick. '
its like i feel like Markelle Fultz. no lie. how did i go from greens to bricks. i mean air balls too? have you guys witnessed this before after getting the custom jump shot thing?

I've told you this 3 times now.

Rec is a different set of sliders from career. You want your quick draw on Gold BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE. At LEAST to silver. This helps the most because by the time your release point comes up on Bronze you've probably already missed your green window. By having a SLOWER jumper your green window is actually SMALLER. I know it's counter intuitive. But trust me.

After quick draw you want RANGE EXTENDER as high as you can. Then HOT ZONE HUNTER as high as you can. If you don't have hot zones then you can get catch and shoot as high as possible to build hot zones. Then if you've got RE, HZH, CNS all maxed then you should get Green Machine up to Silver at least.

Idk why you won't listen to anyone and keep making these threads.

A bunch of bronze badges stacked together does NOT equal even Quick Draw Gold. That is the badge you need FIRST. Ok? No more shooting threads for you.

I would follow the prescribed solution as listed above.

Those badges recommended are the general must haves for shooters, maybe even including difficult shots and deadeye. If all else fails, have confidence that you’re certainly not the only one who has experienced this ‘glitch’ (I’ve encountered the animations being completely removed before.)

before i got the custom jumper and the guy who unlocks it in the practice gym. I was Green lights when wide open IN THE REC with the same bronze badges and NO quick draw at all.

I'll say it again. listen closely. read carefully.

I DO NOT NEED quick draw to make WIDE OPEN 3's or 2 pt jumpers. YOu need quick draw to get the shot off quicker before the defense gets to you.I will get that badge up in a few more badges. remember i already did the experiment. My first 3 badges were quick draw on gold. didnt help a lick. not even a little bit. sure i could get a nice shot off, darn near full bar. BRICK, BRICK< BRICK, open or slightly covered. didnt matter. it was a brick fest. In the REC. and a few too many misses in my career on pro for my liking. shots that should've gone green or at worse hit. were not hitting. so the 4th badge i got, i took quick draw off and went for true shooting badges that would actually boost my make percentage not the speed in which i could shoot. You following me?

This worked. I started greening more often in mycareer by a lot and started greening WIDE open(only) shots in the REC. i never took a contested shot with this guy cause i knew he would brick it due to the lack of badges. no reason to miss a shot that i know wont go in anyway. just swing that ball until i badge up.

Out of the blue i get that extra badge for my 6th, and at the same time i get the practice with the shooting coach and now of course i get the custom jumpshot(which i didnt need because I use a shot i like and no Jump shot 38). No i dont want to go on youtube and use the same 2 or 3 jumper mixes that everyone and their mama uses. ) And as i stated above. I played one game and realized all of my animations went back to default(normal) or blank(dunk animations). i'm talking about my dribbling animations, layups, dunks, flashy passes, freethrows, jumper, everything went to default out of no where. This why i'm asking have you guys even seen that glitch after getting the jump shot creator?

i then went in put all of my previous animations back exactly the way they were. jumper 38 included. but there's a difference i now have corner specialist on bronze and quick draw on bronze. i took my dead eye down from silver back to bronze(This was to include quick draw like you said).

Then all of a sudden i couldnt hit a green shot to save my life. the bar would not go full. it would always be right before it should go full and have that slight space left so no green. I'm thinking if my release should be slightly faster with bronze quick , why am i releasing it the same or slightly later to get a full bar and its stopping before that point? it should've been green or going a bit passed the bar and bouncing back a little. but thats not what was happening. thats why i was wondering if there was some sort of glitch i got that messed my actual shot up.

i have never had this issue with any other player before. and i have a ton of players. I literally went from 60%+ mids in the rec when left open. and 50% from 3pt with line. to air balls and barely touching the rim on every single shot. got my teammates looking at me funny like...why is this guy shooting if he cant shoot. got me out here looking like a 60 brown shirt and I'm a 93. lol.

and one last time howard.

Do we agree. Quick draw is not a fg% booster on jumpers correct? we both know this right? unless you know that 2k lied about what quick draw is in the definition(to speed up your release) . are you saying it actually adds a boost to your jump shot make percentage? cause if it does, its broken too. because thats not what it is supposed to do based on the definition 2k has in the badge description.

So if we agree that quick draw is only there to speed up your jumper. then you must understand it is not...Priority when starting out badge hunting with a non pure shooter. if i was a 90 rated shooter, i would agree 100%, get quick draw and splash your way to the other badges. again i did the experiment already, quick draw didnt do ..... for me on gold without those other badges already all equipped. i started making shots when i got catch and shoot on bronze, difficult shots on bronze, range ext on bronze. the combo of those 3 this is before i got any hot zones. has created a situation so i made enough shots to get hot zones. i wasnt greening enough to my liking to get green machine YET. i tried volume shooter just to see. it worked, but i know i aint a chucker like that outside of my career. so when i go into rec it would be useless. so i took it off.

what i'm telling you is simple. there are a couple of ways to get your badges up when you dont have a shooter/shot creator/offensive threat. and quick draw early on isnt it. because you cant shoot well enough for it to matter how fast you shoot before a defender gets there. 2k will make you brick anyway. until you get catch and shoot, difficult shots(because it thinks every slight movement is a difficult shot), corner specialist at some point, etc, etc. ) you can use steady shooter if you can shoot better than my guy can. that will help when guys are close to you defensively. its like a super dead eye badge. but for a guy like mine starting out early, i would miss WIDE Open shots until i got catch and shoot. so i noticed i needed that boost 2k gives you for being wide open. steady shooter would make me lose that. i have no room for that with this guy. lol

and thats your problem. you stopped reading. which means you stopped reading the first time because you had your own conclusion that had little to nothing to do with the actual problem.

i'll say it again, quick draw makes you shoot faster to get a shot off before the defender arrives. If you have found out that quick draw actually increases/boosts your make % outside of a defender closing out. then that means the definition on 2k20 is WRONG and yet another badge is incorrect. But from my own person tests, that is not the case. quick draw works as described. you shoot faster, to get a shot off before defenders close out.

The shots i'm taking there are no defenders around me at all. Zero percent shot contest. all WIDE open shots. because i already know this guy cant shoot well enough yet to be popping in people's faces.

i do not need quick draw to make wide open jumpers with jumpshot 38(which is by far the fastest jumper release without using quick draw) due to the fact it doesnt have all that pre foot movements of other jumpers.

To answer your question, all my animations went to default after the practice with the Jumpshooting Coach. I didn't notice it for two games. I only noticed it when I keep trying to trigger Jamal Crawford's layup, and it kept giving me different layup animations that I never seen before.

I use the Rudy Gay jumper, and I only attached Bronze Quick Release due always shooting Slightly Early.

i use to hear about other issues with jump shot creator maybe a few months after the games release but i havent heard any complaints since. so that was the first time i ever had that disappearing of animations glitch. here's the thing, i guess because my guy has a decent driving dunk rating at 78 and he has a crazy vertical. i was still getting all sorts of nice dunk animations without anything equipped. makes me wonder with this guy if i should've just left those animations off and let 2k decide anyway. there was something to this in like 2k14 or so. I remember you would add only certain dunk animations you just personally wanted and left space open for like two slots and 2k would give you other animations you couldnt even choose from during games. it may still be the same.
