2k might have messed up jump shot release timing...

So I was testing out the Flexible Release badge in practice mode, and I noticed that every player I tested, badge or no badge, seemed to shoot a higher percentage on late releases. The sweet spot seems to be at around half way on the shot meter going down.

Please try it yourselves.

I don't know... Sounds like it's working

Flexible Release
Reduces the penalty suffered from mis-timed jump shot released.
Shot timing penalties for jump shots are reduced, making it easier to knock down attempts even when releasing early or late.

The above is from 2kLabs

And those guys don't play around.

I'm not talking about the badge.

I shoot at a higher clip on very late releases than with normal timing.

I play this game nearly everyday and your practice mode observation does not translate to the game. In a previous 2K, I could knock turnaround 3s at 100%, but not even close in a normal game. I believe shot timing to work as intended.

Nah you're actually right. The shot penalty system is bugged/broken, have tested extensively. At the very least theres no penalty for very early/releases, and in tests shooting over 100 threes I shot better on very early/late release than with slightly early/late with the same player.

Also in the game and Not only in practice? when I Play in our MLO on Superstar, if i dont get a Green Release, then the shot is going in under 10%, regardless of openness with 80+ shooters.

Re: 2k might have messed up jump shot release timing...

For the start of the season I shoot around 3 to 4 green releases a game. I average 5.3 3pt makes a game on 25.7 attempts. Without green releases that means I hit roughly 1-2 out of 22-23 attempts. Bradley Beal averages 1/5, Myles Turner is at 1/6. And from the 24 teams that keep their stats up to date, 9 of those shoot below 30% on average.

These are with the standard superstar sliders.
