What is up with shooting in the park?

My friends and I have a terrible time shooting online. Anything from layups, mid range or 3pters, but mostly any jump shots. We will miss wide open full shot meter releases. Seems like unless it’s green it’s not going in when our ratings are high enough to make them. My main friend I played with has a 600mb connection and I have a 1000mb fiber connection and get low pings. I know the timing is a little different online, but I can still manage to shoot really good releases when they’re not fully green and my shots still won’t go in. I swear there’s some magical jump shot everyone else has that makes them shoot green jumpers 80% of the time. I’ve tried finding and making a quicker jump shot for online and I know my release and offline I’m a green machine. So what am I doing wrong when park? It really makes the game not fun online in park...

Re: What is up with shooting in the park?

shooting has been super bad for me since patch 6...i can’t hit anything from beyond layup distance (no exaggeration ) i swear since patch 6 i’ve been air balling a lot more shots even with full white releases. it’s to the point where i’m scared to shoot now, can’t take a layup because the paint is always crowded, difficult shots badge is broke so i can’t do my dribble pull ups like last year that’s also gonna be a bad miss smh, something is def wrong.

Re: What is up with shooting in the park?

I was playing in the rec and I had a wide open mid range shot. I took the shot and of course it's a slightly early release so the ball misses the rim as if I have a 50 mid range shot. I have a 93 shot w/skill boosts and all of the appropriate shooting badges. Why are shots like that missing when we have the stats to AT LEAST hit the rim? Just good ol' silly 2k nonsense

Never heard that stats guarantee you at least to hit the rim...but anyway, why is missing a shot such a big deal for some people? Why do people act like they are supposed to hit every single shot...I dont get it.

Re: What is up with shooting in the park?

I have to say I really struggle with making shots, too for the last 2 weeks. Not in the park, but in regular head to head gamemodes. In the preseason of our MLO i was not hitting great but at least was hitting a bit above 30%, which is okay keeping in mind that I am not good at timing the shot and have never been.
Now since our season began, I shoot close to 20% while my 3 best shooters (by rating), Bradley Beal, Myles Turner and Tony Snell combine for 7/39 after the first few games. If I am not getting a green release (which I get only up to 3-4 times a game), then the shot likely won't go in, no matter if its "slighty early/late" or "early/late". And I am not the only one in our league who now struggles with shooting.

who said anything about hitting every single shot? let me know where you saw that because i don’t see it in this thread.
my problem is if i’m shooting FULL WHITES then there is NO reason i should be air balling mid range hots AT ALL.
if i release it very early or very late then cool by all means whatever happens happens, but a full white bar from the mid range area? no not acceptable, i understand nba players shoot air balls in real life but not at the rate that 2k has us shooting them. you guys always try to defend the b/s that is 2k. the stuff that’s happening is just not acceptable. they say they are not touching the shooting but they obviously are.

My shooting stats shouldn't warrant an airball on an open mid range shot. Especially since I'm spending VC on skill boosts and I grinded out shooting badges to have a better chance of making open shots. I understand users getting punished for poor releases (early/late) and contested shots but my shot shouldn't be way off the mark especially when I'm open. It felt like a scripted moment

Everyone knows they’re not going to hit every single shot. But, the shots we miss in 2k in all modes don’t make sense especially online. Air balling wide open shots isn’t a rare occurrence. Full white releases go in what seems like 35% of the time wide open. There’s something fundamentally wrong...
