Skater stops skating with puck

Why is it sometimes my skater will stop skating when I have the puck? Is this a bug or what? My skater will hardly move with it until I pass or shoot.

I had an issue like that last night. In a 2 on 1 breakaway my skater decided to turn around and skate backwards which caused an offside. Turns out my controller was broken. And after that play I made sure it was really broken. It’s the original controller that came with the system so it’s lasted more than a few years. Needless to say I will be making a trip to the store for a new one today.
