All Madden vs. All Pro

I typically play All Madden but as I get older and the stick skills deteriorate, it may be time to move down.

What are the main differences?
Is Robo Qb alive on All Pro?
Do CPU teams use their X Factors?

I would try Pro if I were you - there is no robo QB and X-factors are used. I suggest sliders in WC Basketball's thread for a fair and competitive game. I think users are afraid to go to PRO because it would be to easy or they are embarrassed to "Play on Pro"

I'm a CPU vs CPU guy. Does it make any difference if the skill level is set to pro, all pro, all Madden, etc? What would you set it to for the most realistic gameplay for CPU vs CPU?

I'll just share my opinion on the matter, for what it's worth.

Now first off, I prefer All Pro difficulty for one reason. That being there are no ratings boost whatsoever, in previous Madden's you could see during preplay the different matchups and notice that All Madden was in fact altering ratings. On All Pro if 'x' player has a rating of 85 speed, he has 85 speed.

For the questions listed

1. Is Robo QB alive? Yes and No, some games you will have a good QB go 12-13 passing to start but you also get games that guys start off poorly. For example, I played the week 4 Matchup between Carolina and Houston. In that game, Watson started 1-6 for -2 yards. But later in the game he was 23-34 for over 250 yards. So if you give All Pro time and don't judge off of 1 quarter, you will have games that vary. Guys will have great games, poor games, bad start but finished strong type games, great start but fall off type games.

2. Yes CPU teams use their X Factor abilities. I've seen plenty of QB scrambles, crazy jukes, hit sticks, great coverage etc. on default All Pro.

All Madden can be great, I played on All Madden for a long time when I was younger. Lately however, I get great games on All Pro that are just fun to play which is the most important part.

I would rather have a fun, fair matchup where you still need to play smart to win than to have a slightly tougher matchup that is obviously just downgrading your team a little for a challenge.

I miss the days of NCAA Football where we could put offense on All-American and defense on Heisman. Madden could really use that.

All-Pro inevitably gets too easy. I went 13-3 with the Jets in my first season and lost in the divisional round. This is generally how it goes for me in Madden: I'll use a bad team, overachieve in the regular season, and then lose prior to the Super Bowl. Darnold won MVP and threw for 4,800 yards and 45 TDs. Bell had 1,600 rushing yards and 20+ TDs. I led the league in total offense by a mile.

All-Madden is more like All-Maddening. There is simply too much nonsense from the CPU, but it's needed since the HUM has such a big advantage over it. Any Madden vet is significantly smarter than the CPU so the CPU has to make up for it by "cheating" on All-Madden. In recent years it's gotten better--it was nearly cheese-free in '18--but it's still there. You'll be up late in the game and only an epic collapse will let the CPU back in the game and sure enough, there's one epic collapse coming right up. Fumbles, penalties, etc. and all of a sudden you've blown a 17 point lead in two minutes. I'm not saying it doesn't happen IRL but it tastes so bad when it happens in Madden.

Every year I ping pong back and forth between the two difficulty levels. I'm currently on my first extended All-Madden stretch after restarting my Jets CFM. I lost 45-10 to Philly last night after trailing 31-0 at halftime. My biggest issue with AM this year is that I can rarely throw the ball downfield. The CPU sits in their usual Cover 2 or Cover 3 zone on 95% of the plays and I have to take my checkdowns since zone defenders react much, much faster on AM, plus you have far less time in the pocket to let routes develop. L-Bell had 17 receptions in the Philly because it's just about all I could do. It's like every team in the league abides by a "keep everything in front of you" defensive philosophy. The killer in all of this is that play-action doesn't work in Madden so it's really difficult to get guys behind the defense on AM IMO. Then again, I'm the Jets.

I’ve been playing on All-Madden for sometime. I flirted with All-Pro for a few days on M20 only to return to All-Madden level.

All-Pro is too easy. 16-0 is in play every year on All-Pro, even with a middle of the pack roster. I’m not a particularly good player. If I played online, I’d get destroyed I’m sure.

All-Madden has its problems but I find, for me, it’s the best playing level. I have built a good roster but I can easily lose five to six games per season if I’m not careful.

I tried All Madden for a few games this year after not for years. While it’s not as bad as I remember it I still think it cheats some. All Pro I’m getting good, competitive games so I stick with that.

I'm starting to toy around with playing my home games on All Pro and away games on All Madden.
