The "Were They Drunk?" Thread. A Listing of Odd Changes That Have You Asking.

This is not a crying thread. This is a thread for those odd design changes that came packed in 2K20 that has you scratching your head.

- When changing sliders, when you switch user/cpu, you get sent back to the top. That means, let's say you're matching foul sliders with the CPU, every time you switch between the two, you have to scroll back down from the top. Sliders have been present since 2K3, and this never happened.

- The Pregame show is in the game, but it seems Visual Concepts placed it into the random events list upon game startup. You may get the pregame show, or you may get an ad for clothing with players walking all spiffy. What a weird choice. An option to turn it off would have been better.

- Of course the obvious...all the omissions in MyGM due to adding online leaderboards to the mode.

- The inability to turn off the splash, especially from seeing your opponent (cpu or online) having those perfect shots. I personally don't like knowing if a shot is going in before it makes it to the basket.

- New additions to the game that get no explanations. Visual Concepts are pros when it comes to having everybody guess what things mean and how they work. For instance, home court advantage displays a letter grade before every game, but what does it mean? How does it affect the home team? How does it affect the away team? What benefits does a team have with an A over a D-? Nobody knows.

- MyPlayer is the worst name for the story mode. MyPlayer used to focus on you. You would be given several options in how to react to different events, and you weren't bogged down into being a whole different personality. MyPlayer has devolved into a soap opera. You're an actor in a play about basketball. It is no longer about roleplaying as yourself, or any chosen character, but roleplaying a strict script of some racially ambiguous poser that no race in the real world can relate to.

Feel free to add to the list

You forgot to add changing the way you call plays into this favorite series play thing. Can't take advantage of mismatches. Too much levels.

Yea the slider thing is a pain in the @$$

And knowing that the CPU will make the shot before it goes in...pardon my french... is the stupidest thing 2k has implemented this year, maybe all-time. I'm pretty sure if they did a pole of 1million players, 100% would agree to have it gone or have the option to turn it off.

- it's a 2k19 Change but it still applies: changing the Uniform Change Button from LT/RT to Y. if you press Y to fast and you skip your desired Uniform, you have to cycle through All other Uniforms to get to the desired one again, instead of just using the LT/RT System where you could move Forward and backwards.

Some rebrand specific items

- Download preview shows a corner of the court only meaning you have to download and go into the court editor to see if you what the entire court looks like.
- Name on back of jersey in editor is your Gamertag instead of generic "Last Name" text, when sizing the font to look right in the editor its way too large on the jersey.
- All numbers and fonts aren't centered by default on the jersey, some number fonts have awkwardly large kerning between two digit numbers
- We can use non Nike template shorts but they will always appear as short shorts, overriding the shorts length slider.
- Number colors have to be significantly darkened and or changed on the color wheel in order to match trim/jersey colors from the Team Colors selection

Drop down menu from Live should do the trick. Live keeps things simple while 2k goes menu crazy.

When you're subbed out in mycareer, why do you have to watch the last possession of the quarter? And why is there always a dead ball situation in the end of quarters anyway?

Why does every full court heave have to hit the rim?????
