NBA2K2020 Rec/Park/Pro Am thread

I know a lot of you guys aren't big on these modes but would still like to have a thread dedicated to them.

From my limited experience in Rec so far steal spamming still feels broken; do you think it's worth investing in the "unpluckable" badge to prevent full court steal cheese?

Gameplay also seems like it still rewards idiot strategies like shooting behind screens etc too, sigh. They NEED to make it so if your player doesn't have line of sight to the rim (behind a teammates back) that shots are HEAVILY penalised.

Rec also seems wayyyy laggier than the Park to the point of being sluggish

My experience in the rec so far: a 7’3 glass is the fastest way to get rep right now

7'3 Glass cleaners are the way to go this year in REC. They grab every single board and are defensive monsters in the paint. Only build that can consistently get blocks right now as well.

Also, hands up defense is definitely something you need to do when someone is driving to the paint. With how slow everyone's shot is this year you can slideover to help with hands up, then run back to your man with no consequences. There is no need to jump to contest a layup. In fact, it's often worse to do so.

It’s terrible. It took literally 5 minutes to open the progression screen and upgrade my player. Takes about a minute to open someone’s 2K card and see their build and after a park game the screen freezes for about a minute before you can do anything.

Side note, I was really big on hating 2K for destroying Post Scorers, but I’d rather be one dimensional inside then to take 4 seconds to release a 3pt shot. I’m guarding Stretches from the free throw line

Re: NBA2K2020 Rec/Park/Pro Am thread

Hey y’all, haven’t had a chance to even get the download started for 2k20 yet. Avid rec player, and I’ll play 3v3 with my boys on the park: What’s the best advice you have going into it this year. I’m normally a 4. Last year I was super cheesy and made a sharpshooting post scorer. But I love the idea of a big man that can space the floor and pass. When I ran 3s I was normally de facto point guard with 2 sharp slashers flanking me doing cuts and wraps. So I if I can do a post scoring sharp again I will. What’s the meta right now in Rec?

Re: NBA2K2020 Rec/Park/Pro Am thread

Rec is a ateal spam fest again like the beginning of last year. The only safe pass is walking the ball to a teammate and handing it to them. Every other pass has 3-4 people lunging through the air covering an inhuman amount of ground.
