Why do teams suck in real life play like superstars in this game?

Seriously, the New York Jets, Tennessee, Buffalo, Miami, Cincinnati, they are not good. Why do they play like they are in this game?

Marcus mariota is not a good quarterback but he currently has an 85.7% completion percentage against me right now on all pro. BS.

So sick of this. I don’t mind losing to good teams, I’m tired of bad teams not sucking in this game like they do in real life.

Drop the cpu qb accuracy slider by a few when you play these qbs that you think suck accordingly.Maybe you shouldn't have to do this but it is an option regardless.

"Bad" NFL players are still professional athletes. The gap between a Mariota and Wilson isn't as large as people would want to believe. Madden actually reflects this pretty well.

But you still have to play them hard, you still have to mix up defenses, you still need to apply that 'pressure to perform' them. Even the worst starting QB will tear you apart if you don't apply that pressure. You can't just sag off and play a vanilla defense and expect these guys to constantly flub throws left and right.

The beauty though....when you get that pressure on them (whether through tight coverage or pass rush), this is where they get differentiated. Top tier QBs can still perform....lesser guys begin making mistakes.

I'm using QBs as an example, but this really applies across the board.

The best pass defense is a good defensive line in 43 and good OLB in a 34.

Generate pressure and they get sloppy quick.

I run a 34 blitz scheme and the most important positions are my NT and my OLB.

Don't just sit in cover 2 or 3 or 2 man under all game. The CPU AI learns and will pick you apart. Mariota may be "bad" but he is still 1 of 32 NFL starting quarterback and given time to find a receiver without pressure will decimate even the best secondary.

Yes it is. Mariota is not good, period. Bad teams should play badly regardless of difficulty, period.

Mariota wins MVP in a large amount of my first year sims. We all know that isnt happening. I am not saying he is terrible but he is not going to win MVP.

You are exactly correct. Madden teams should play to the level of their numerical ratings. No better, no worse, no variation. Everyone who watches football knows that "any given Sunday" isn't actually a thing, and the New York Jets, Tennessee, Buffalo, Miami, Cincinnati will all tie for 0-16 (schedules be damned) this year.
