Does anyone know how this is decided? My first season of franchise Kingsbury got a discount for scouting points on WRs, then in year two it randomly changed to OL. I'm on year 4 now and it's been OL ever since. Today while I was scouting it occurred to me that it would make a lot more sense to get a discount on scouting points for players who were a scheme fit rather than by position. That's one minor tweak I'd like to see.

It's decided based on who your scout is.

It depends on your scout if you're playing as GM. Otherwise, it's based on your coach. Each coach gets a certain position that is cheaper for them.
