A mode that makes mediocre players a 99 overall card on a whim? I wonder why. /s

Yeah no mention of making cards realistic for 2k20. Other than position locking that's all I wanted. Tired of facing teams with unrealistic versions of players. It just turns the mode into a cheesefest. I couldn't care less about frequent packs and stuff, I just wanted to play the 5v5 mode in MyTeam and expect a reasonably true to life experience. Not have to pick up Antawn Jamison from half court because he's money from 40ft in 2k MyTeam

Re: NBA 2K20 MyTEAM Trailer and Developer Blog

I really enjoy the fantasy modes across all sports games (MUT, FUT, Diamond Dynasty). I’m hoping MyTeam will become somewhat less of cheese fest after the last couple years. And, please 2k put the skill level on All-Star/Superstar simulation. Like PlayNow in 2k19 was perfect as it required you to play defense and not just turbo up and down the court all game. Playing defense was non existent in MyTeam, unless you had a OP team over your opponent.

Well guess we’ll wait and see.

Re: NBA 2K20 MyTEAM Trailer and Developer Blog

It says in the blog "no longer will you face a diamond Andrei Kirilenko at point guard".

They created the problem themselves. Why does a guy who's career high in assists was 11, and career average was 2.7 need to have passing stats better than nba point guards who top those numbers all the time?

Also the base 11 release, I think they gave it to him because none of the releases they had in the game resembled his so they gave it to him simply increase his value.

Which well it did because anybody who bought enough cards early in the cycle to get him had a huge advantage over anybody else.

If they couldn't make a realistic representation of him be 95 overall it shouldn't exhist at all.

Oh wait they did, the 84 overall one from 2k16. Which is around what he was rated in the old games back when he was playing.

So that problem creates position locks which, if smaller player actually were quicker and were the only ones with the highest ball control stats, basically wouldn't be necessary.

Which connects to something else in this video the free evolution player to start with. It will be clear within a couple weeks of release which one of these players is actually best but given t-mac being a 6'8 SG it likely will be him unless this entire height issue is largely addressed which, based on the demo it doesn't look like it is. But this is a tremendous disadvantage to anybody playing the game from day one, almost like the domination rewards in 2k18 where the best choice was far and away wes unseld but it took time for that to get figured out.

That brings me to using said players in unlimited which to me the entire point of this mode should be play volume. The 12-0 thing just created toxicity of people trying to do anything to cheese out wins, and not on having fun. Now its defenitely good that they say the team overall matchup issues are fixed, but I don't really believe that because if people don't need to improve their team to win, they whats the incentive to do so? Also it sounds like 12-0 is still a thing, but it also says you will get rewarded at the ends of periods. It will discourage people to play at all if they don't get rewards for playing. This is the biggest puzzler to me of the entire thing. People already rage quit very quickly with immediate rewards at stake, if their aren't any they won't play at all.

All in all, all the rewards and challenges sound great but if they can't make playing the CPU a more enjoyable experience, it doesn't matter. This was the first year in the several I've played myteam where I simply did not care about completing domination, not just because the rewards weren't that great, but because I simply could not stand the boredom. Guarding the cpu players is like playing people who can ignore defense and playing against the cpu defenders is just that, robots that you can only beat by overpowering them. Not fun. Point being if they want people to complete challenges against the cpu it has to be enjoyable to do so and I see not a word about the CPU AI in either the trailer or blog. And while many have stated the demo feels incomplete, the way the cpu plays feels pretty much the same to me.
