CPU Refused to Kick FG

Just had one of the best, most enjoyable and most realistic games yet with a bizarre ending.

I took a one point lead just after the two minute warning vs Chicago. They get the ball back and get into FG range with a 1st down. They take their second timeout with 10 seconds left, but their offence stays out. They run their play and its an incomplete pass. Their offence still stays out with like 7 seconds left so I take a timeout. They come back out in Hail Mary Trips and throw an incompletion from like the 27 yard line and run out the clock.

I've seen the CPU run time down with timeouts but have never seen this before.

Yeah, end of game CPU logic is majorly flawed.

Re: CPU Refused to Kick FG

I've had this happen (3) times so far out of my (7) CFM games, all at halftime.

Team is within FG range (30 yards or under), calls their last timeout with anywhere from 10-20 seconds left. They run another play for some reason - get tackled - time expires.

While I'm glad they didn't score lol the logic behind the CPU time management needs to be addressed.

Re: CPU Refused to Kick FG

Yeah I've seen it too, one timeout left and the cpu lets the clock run out in field goal range. End of half/game logic needed work before this year but they seem to have taken a step backwards

Re: CPU Refused to Kick FG

Classic example of a bug that has not existed in any other previous Madden game introduced to this one for inexplicable reasons, as if nobody actually plays the game versus the CPU prior to release.

This bug has happened to me in previous Madden a few times.

Re: CPU Refused to Kick FG

I’m encountering this as well. During gameplay I’d say this and also the cpu qb dropback going 20+ yards and taking a sack are the two more annoying aspects to experience.

Make sure if not already done to report these in the bug thread and let's hope they address it.
