I’m experiencing two reoccurring themes in my franchise games:

Playing on default All-Pro. Simulation style. Vikings.

1) On offense, I feel like I’m having way too much success on quick passes and checkdowns (slants, drags, ins, outs, etc.) I can basically get 10 yards on a slant or an in route 8 or 9 times out of 10.

2) On defense, I can’t stop these same types of routes. I’ve tried press man to man, shading inside and underneath, usering linebackers and sitting on the inside routes, etc. I barely even attempt to use zone defenses anymore. If I don’t get to the QB while I’m in a zone, it’s a completion every time. The good QBs are completing 80% of their passes. Probably 95% of their short passes.

Curious to hear if you guys are experiencing the same things and how you deal with it. Slider changes? Defensive adjustments?

Coverage is mostly broken. Suggestions: reduce reaction time sliders, wait for a patch, and if you’re fortunate to have it for PC (hooked up to your television, of course), wait for Saint Sabo and people like him to make gameplay and AI adjustments.

The pass coverage is completely broken and does not work at all. So, for your 2 problems you have 2 options:

1. Wait for EA to patch it.
2. Play on PC where Sabo is already working on fixing it.

Note: There will be a plethora of mods & EA Madden sympathizers here shortly to say "git gud" or call better coverage and that the problems that you and everyone else is experiencing is not the games fault but your own...I'll be long gone by then...you have been warned.

If you turn off superstar abilities you will see a sudden and dramatic improvement in coverages.

Yes. I am with you. And sadly, there really isn't anything we can do about it. I played w/ the sliders; I jacked my defense up to a 99 rating on all categories and not much really helped (they played much better in man coverage but zone... forget it)

All we can do is (a) hope they patch it (b) hope the patch fixes it (c) hope the patch doesn't mess up something else.

Im going to try this because every game in my Bears franchise Mack has 6+ sacks. He gets unblockable and the AI just never can adjust.

Make sure illegal man downfield penalty setting is on too once you start a game. I don’t know why but it also improves coverage. It’s like night and day.

Before I knew about it I was losing on All Pro with about an average score of something like 35-14. Since I’ve turned it on I beat the Giants 31-3 on All Pro. Right now I’m beating the Saints at half 17-10.

CPU QBs were completing about 75-80% of passes on me before. After I held Eli and Jones to 53%. Brees at half is at 70% which isn’t too bad because well it’s Brees.
