Concussion protocol?

Any of you have house rules when a player gets a concussion?

Right now, I sit them for that game if they aren't out the entire game and 1 game after for their first concussion.

A second concussion (in their career) results in missing the rest of the year and a 3rd, ends their career.

I just had my first player be forced into retirement with his third concussion. He was my FB that I use as my primary RB bc he's the highest rated guy on my team. I have house rules that force me to rebuild after a "death penalty" type of scenario, this guy was the player I built my program around.

Re: Concussion protocol?

I have a similar protocol. sit the next week unless like what just happened to me it was a bye week so I cleared him to play the next game. the next game he gets a concussion in the first half. I am going to sit him the rest of the year and have him retire at the end of the year. I evaluate every situation differently. if it was spread out over a couple years I would still have him on the team but since it was back to back. I'm going to have him retire. what sucks now is it puts me down to 2 QBs and I am hoping to redshirt one. I am trying not to burn it.

One thing I've just decided to do with the FB who will retire is, the next time my OC job gets replaced, I'm going to create my injured player as my next OC. I always like to add little storylines into the game.

I take real life players that were good in college but never really made it in the NFL and put them in when a new coach takes over. never really thought about having former players though.
