Body knee elbow spam

How is this still in the game - ran into nothing but Overeem bdoy knee elbow spammers all night long.

Is there a reliable defense to this absolute garbage that everyone resorts to or has this destroyed the game?

Pretty sure cross-lead uppercut is the popular counter.

The most reliable defense I find against it that I’ve seen no one else mention is timing a back moving jab or straight ast they try to knee or elbow, the back moving jab will stun them out of the knee and it will evade the elbow, you can use the back moving straight to get them to commit to the knee elbow after it hits their block and then you open up with a stationary combo n blast them works pretty well.

So to recap back moving jab for defensive purposes, back moving straight into stationary combo for offensive purposes

Yes, the retreating jab works perfectly against the knees especially when they're coming forward.

I generally lunge the knee if it's coming forward to get them on the fence so I can initiate Over Under or Thai.

Catching the knee is good too, if I'm not planning to interrupt the combination with the straight lead upper, I'm aiming to catch the knee for a TD.

If somebody throws a knee slightly out of range, the low single is there 9 times out of 10.

I know there are counters man, but it’s so ****ed up this beeing a super effective strategy, in Xbox we have top 10 players losing to those guys... hopefully they will patch this **** out for ufc 4...

Sincere question: Does anybody actually go to practice mode and take the time to recognize the animation and practice for about 30-40 minutes? Or do they just go straight to Ranked? I practice the counters I use.

If top 10 players on Xbox are losing to Knee Elbow 'spam' , I'm surprised because the majority of that playerbase love to throw 4 pieces like Jab Uppercut hook straight, straight lead hook x2, Jab rear hook lead Uppercut Straight, and will LOVE to focus on throwing nothing but those strikes to destroy the block, yet they're panicking over two strikes.

Knee Elbow isn't something that can be landed at step kick range. You can single collar clinch if they're too close and you know your entries, OU clinch as well. Nobody is flying across the Octagon throwing knees and elbows. (Most) People have no issue with 100+ strikes consisting of the same 3+4 hit combos, and won't call that spam, yet the knee elbow which has a lot of counters for it that are timing based, is only 2 strikes and it takes more out of the users stamina pool than punches.

There's nothing to patch out aside from maybe lowering the speed of the combination, but that would mean ALL combos need to be slowed down respectively.

Was Overreem spamming knees against Oleinik? Was Holloway spamming jabs against Poirier? Ask yourself those questions.

I would be more focused on better evasive maneuvers that won't be broken, the first thing I would want fixed is not having head movement frozen after your block is overcommitted.

Would you agree that the combo that is represented in the game both speed and elbow power wise isn't realistic at all? You mentioned Overeem spamming knees, but not spamming knees into elbows. It seems like a silly thing to do because wouldn't you lose a ton of torque on the elbow. I'm seriously asking because I have no formal training.

The speed of it coming FORWARD should DEFINITELY be reduced for sure. Elbow Knee is somwhat fine, Knee Elbow is worse.
