Point Guards who are great cutters

Watching Jamal Murray on the receiving end of alot of cutting plays, who are some other point guards past and present in NBA history who are great cutters?

Dwayne Wade (PG days early in his Heat Career)
Kyrie Irving

Re: Point Guards who are great cutters

Basket Cut Synergy > 5%

STARTERS
15% Ben Simmons (PHI): 1.30 PPP
6% Elfrid Payton (NOP): 1.03 PPP
5% Jamal Murray (DEN): 1.38 PPP
5% Lonzo Ball (LAL): 1.27 PPP

BACKUPS
8% Tim Frazier (NOP): 1.38 PPP
7% George Hill (MIL): 1.55 PPP
7% T.J. McConnell (PHI): 1.41 PPP
7% Alex Caruso (LAL): 1.31 PPP
7% Monte Morris (DEN): 1.29 PPP
7% Evan Turner (POR): 1.27 PPP
7% Chasson Randle (WAS): 1.05 PPP
6% Tomas Satoransky (WAS): 1.38 PPP
5% Markelle Fultz (PHI): 1.30 PPP

Given repeat teams this has more to do with team scheme than the individual.

Murray and Morris stand out because they aren't garbage-tier shooters (unlike a lot of players on the list). These possessions are all created by Jokic's elite passing.

That's exactly what I thought.

Re: Point Guards who are great cutters

Kind of surprised no one's mentioned Shaun Livingston yet. Cutting to the basket is pretty much what he does on offense, apart from an occasional post-up.

I don't classify him as a PG anymore (he's been Klay's backup this year), but certainly in previous seasons he'd qualify. He's spent a good chunk of his cutting career at SG though (which makes sense since it's an off-ball action)

Shaun Livingston 2019
ON-BALL (27% of Offense)
12% PostUp: 0.91 PPP
9% PnR: 1.00 PPP
6% Iso: 0.75 PPP

OFF-BALL (30% of Offense)
26% Cut: 1.26 PPP
4% SpotUp: 1.18 PPP
NA RollMan
NA Handoff
NA OffScreen

NON-HC (39% of Offense)
22% Transition: 0.87 PPP
11% Misc: 0.43 PPP
6% Putback: 1.18 PPP

I kind of agree with Rashid on this one. Never thought of him as a Cutter. Only because most sag off him. When I think of a Cutter. It's because the defense is trying to deny or close out so hard on them. They get backdoor.
