Worth buying if coming from MLBtS 17?

I know these threads (should I buy it?) are rampant, so I don't expect this to garner much attention.

Last year, I did not buy MLBtS 18 due to being content with 17, and with my gaming time dwindling. I continued my Franchise and was happy.

I mainly play RttS and Franchise. Have there been enough improvements in these modes to warrant an upgrade to '19? I honestly really don't care about DD.

If there isn't enough in those two modes (Rtts and Franchise), and/or in actual gameplay, I'll just stick with '17 for another year.

1000% yes for many reasons, but even if just for gameplay alone its worth it. But i would recommend renting first, because you may not find that to be the case for you.

Just decided to take the plunge from '17 after reading all the negatives and the few positives.....but up to now i've found it to be a massive upgrade on '17. Admittedly its early days for me, but the game runs smooth, gameplay is excellent and roster adjustments are pretty much up to date, with only about a half dozen changes to the 40 man on each team, which should take me about a week to sort out. Currently playing just PLAY NOW till i delve into franchise for the season on 30 team control. I prefer to control all teams roster changes and injuries on a daily basis . Not been disappointed at all with the upgrade from '17. Had i purchased '18 , I might have had a different viewpoint....who knows.
The ability to hire the game is not available for me, so what the heck, go for it. It certainly wipes the floor with '17......

I'd say yes, but be warned, only for the gameplay upgrades. The RttS improvements are numerous but subjective. The biggest improvements to franchise are for those that sim games, which might be you considering you said that your gaming time is dwindling. Critical moments allows you to simulate games quickly while still participating in key moments (like a 9th inning save situation). March to October is, in my opinion, just a scam, it's just critical moments but you have even less control over your team, but it has gotten a lot of positive feedback. The key (and only) difference is that your on field play impacts sim results.

For those who play every pitch of every game though, the improvements are thin.

Contract Extensions are my personal favourite improvement. You can also now choose how to financially structure a contract (front loaded, back loaded, balanced).

Franchise now also has its own front end, where important tasks for that time of year get put front and center. It helps guide inexperienced franchise players properly manage a team, and works as a nice reminder of what needs to be done for veterans.

That's it though, that's everything for franchise. Everything else is exactly the same, warts and all. The vast majority of improvements are in gameplay.

Yes,it's a big upgrade from '17 but '18 was a bigger upgrade imo.So typically with any sports games these days,if you're an offline franchise player, skip a year or buy discounted on Black Friday.

I understand though that alot of people here play enough hours to certainly get their money's worth when paying full price.
