Earning Less Stars? I can't be the only one

So when patch 7 (I think) dropped about 10 days ago I started only getting 1 star from conquest games.


I know it was right after the patch because I was finishing off the "Cobb" map, and the last few games I played the night before I got the usual two stars, and then right after I downloaded the patch the next morning I only got one per game for each of my last four games on the map.


I then played a 9 inning game and only got 2 stars and I had gotten 4 or 5 stars for every 9 inning game I played before the patch.


What I cant figure out is, I have not seen any posts here or on Reddit where people are experiencing the same thing. How can it only be me?

That could be true, I stopped keeping track as I got to 600 a long time ago, but I wouldn't be remotely surprised if they slowed it down after seeing how early a lot of people got to 300. Sneakily changing things is very much an SDS move, so I wouldn't rule it out

It’s not just you, I noticed it as well when playing conquest.

The problem is that not everyone got there quickly. On The Show Nation everyone who talks about it being easy and blowing past 600 have played 100 hours plus in the first 3 weeks

I put in 40 to 50 hours and ended up in the mid 300s.

Slowing down the gain from simply playing and me running out of meaningful games to play in offline mode is causing my interest to die a slow death.

Yeah it stinks tbh, for an offline game player in particular as we can't even get the easy 30 for 10 wins or 2 extra daily missions.

I'm getting about 3 stars for every 4 conquest games and then maybe 3 a day from the 2 daily missions. Throw in the 30 for conquest and it means you need about 9 stars a day to get to 300, and that's if you play every single day. 3 stars from dailies, means 6 stars from playing, so 8 games of conquest every single day. That's ridiculous to expect anyone to keep that up.

Realistically they are just forcing people to play moments, which sucks because they suck. They know no one likes them, so are forcing us to do them as it's the only way most people will bother with them.

For a year where they bragged about player choice and lack of grinding, this is the most aimless, grindy year ever

Noticed it too. Exchange daily mission is down for me most days too from 5 to 3 Stars. DD is so stale for the offline player, it’s too bad!

I'll use this opportunity to once again throw out my thoughts on things they could do for offline, and specifically conquest.

1. Reset it and offer a new reward every time they roll out a new ranked season. And when i say reset it, I mean the whole thing new random packs and stubs scattered around the map and a new diamond reward.

2. Incorporate the Events style roster limits on a conquest map. Roll out a full US map with roster limits.

I have little desire to play the main conquest map again for a 10 pack bundle. It is not worth the risk of 12 plus hours to get 10 packs of commons and bronzes.

On the Show Nation forum, one of the devs said that the stars earned by gameplay are tied to xp, but didn’t elaborate further. I’m wondering if it’s tied to levels, on bronze, you fly through them pretty fast, but it starts slowing down the higher you get. That might be why we’re getting less now, since we’re not gaining as many levels, we’re not earning as many stars.
