I would appreciate some advice...

I know, considering the hype right now about the new release, that my question is EXTREMELY out of style but...I need some help so I'm going to ask anyways.

I was dumb enough to get an Xbox One as opposed to a PS4 several years ago and now when it comes to baseball, I'm screwed. Super Mega Baseball 2 is fun but lets be serious, it's not anywhere close to a sim game...at all. RBI Baseball 19 is pure trash.

So...I'm not, even though I seriously considered it, going to go buy a PS4 just for one game. That's silly.

So I'm left with 2 options.

1. Get an old PS3 and one of the version of The Show for that system. Roster accuracy isn't crucial for me.

But ive done my research and I need help determining which PS3 version of The Show was best in terms of performance when it comes to stuttering and freezing issues.

I've read up on all of them and it seems that complaint is somewhat common. Are people just exaggerating? Whenever I watched gameplay videos, I witnessed practically none of these frame rate issues.

Or option 2, I could get an old 360 and play MLB 2k12 or 2k13 which are incredibly underrated games especially with the amazing presentation they offered. I really enjoyed them.

Any help or advice would be so damn appreciated!!! Seriously. 😀

I want to say the show 14 was the last on the PS3. It was the last version of the show I played all 162 without simulating. You can't go wrong with that. I also do not remember any issues with it.

You might be able to find a used PS4 on Craigslist in your area for a reasonable price, just a thought. That's how I sold mine when I got my new PS4 Pro.

Another thought GameStop has refurbished PS4's for not too much $$ so might give them a look as well. Wouldn't hurt to check out. Better than Xbone for baseball

I was in the exact same boat. Played MLB 2K for a few years. I eventually caved and bought a PS4, a few years ago. I own 3 games for it: MLB The Show 17, MLB The Show 18, MLB The Show 19. My suggestion is to bite the bullet and buy it. I play my xbox one year round and The Show from release through 1 full season with my current year Red Sox, and then as much as I can handle after simming 5-7 years and playing a season. You won't regret it. The Show on PS4 is just so much better than any other baseball game on any platform.

Re: I would appreciate some advice...

Are you playing enough Xbox exclusive titles that trading in or selling the One is not an option.

The sole reason I am on Playstation from way back in the day is The Show but I have stuck with it because the exclusives are more in line with what I play than the Xbox. I am not bashing it, just saying there are a lot of great games on the PS4 so it might be worth examining the option?

I bought a PS3 years ago simply to play MLB The Show, and have since bought a PS4 and then a PS4 Pro. I agree with the previous poster...you won't regret it.

If you can afford it, go big or go home. You will regret not getting the PS4 over the PS3. You will open yourself up to some amazing games.

But like I said, only if it's within your budget.
