Madden please dont mess with the falling forward animation

Madden please dont fix the falling forward animation. This isnt bad, what is bad is gronkowski getting pushed back when running with full momentum vs a DB. This seems to be the alternative and i truly dont trust that madden will fix this without over using the pick up and carry tackle* animation to overide the falling forward one. I finally feel like tackling is realistic, on plays that a defender has better momentum and the running back doesnt, all it looks like is a player fighting, not some random animation creating a unrealistic outcome. I really hated seeing madden is going to fix this. why cant they focus on DBs stopping in the endzone, or the fact that all speeds except normal cause a glitch, or that some screens end up in freezing. Its so apparently pure laziness. the last 5 maddens, every running back ive had subtract 30 from their spin rating just so players arent attempting it 10 times a game (strait up may of been an under exageration). The fact that i have to do this just shows how lazy they truly are

Yeah, the change is generally positive. Hopefully it can be toned down without being completely eliminated.

On the user front you can get more secure tackles by strafing up and not holding the tackle button until you get close. Tackle buttons work just like ball hawk.

You could hold A (Xbox) for conservative tackle while you are running and once in range you would stop the ball carrier dead no matter what the context of the tackle was.

Now if you are on the tackle button too early you get the bad animation and the ball carrier will run through a weak attempt.

It has to be fixed to a balance between both. Before the glitch powerful running backs were stopped on a dime by small corners which is not realistic, however now small RBs can power thru the largest DL. Bottom Line, It clearly shows no physics at all. Its all obsolete animations!!! EA need to change their name to “ Can’t do right”!

Re: Madden please dont mess with the falling forward animation

While i agree too often before bigger guys with momentum would get knocked backwards too easily . This is just the opposite pole of that . Neither are good and im quite frankly tired of tackling someone in the backfield now for them to still gain 2 yards. Or the guy i tackle somehow picks up 4 yards when he should have clearly been stopped .

It needs fixing. However what it needs is real physics instead of their faked physics. They are using some patent they have that is supposed to give the feeling of physics without actually using a real physics engine. Kinetic Energy Smoother . <---This is the entire problem with so much of this game . But they just keep on trying to fake it instead of digging in with a real physics engine.

The falling forward animation does not tell the story of what the problem actually is. In fact, there are many instances when that should be the result. The real problem is that this animation triggers when it makes no sense to actually do so. For instance, just as I was about to sack the QB on an "a gap blitz", the QB instantaneously went from hitting his back step to bulldozing my defender 3 yards forward. In a slowed down replay, I witnessed my defender appear to hit an invisible force field and slightly step back before the collision took place. The result of these types of outcomes look beyond ridiculous to me. Having said that, pre-patch it also looked beyond ridiculous to be able to simply get one hand on a RB accelerating through a hole and drop him like a bag of rocks.

The falling forward animation should not be eliminated, but the tackling needs to be addressed so that the outcome is at least somewhat believable.

I would prefer if they made it realistic. Sometimes fall forward, sometimes not, depending upon momentum.

Yea this is getting ridiculous, I just had a game where I sacked the QB as he was running backwards away from the pressure but when I made the hit he somehow pushed FORWARD for 5 yards. I know it was crazy before how even small defenders would stop bigger backs in their tracks but how did they test this before rolling out the patch and go "yup that's the fix right there."

lol your trippin dude. You clearly haven't played with this patch or watched anyone that's played with it if you want it to stay.
