Re: New Madden NFL 19 title update - patch notes here

Lol, I've actually been winning some games on All-Madden default with this fall forward...glitch, or feature, or whatever you decide to call it.

I guess I better play as much as I can before this new patch comes before I start on my losing streak again.

Really? this is actually something that makes the game better imo. its wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more realistic than the stupid *** tackle animation that defenders always seem to be able to knock the ballcarrier back.

fyi madden, that animation is only realistic if the players arent moving fast. the animation is unrealistic as **** and by far the most common tackling animation. tbh if they just removed that animation, there is so much variation in other animations, that every tackle would look smooth

I feel like the animations are a little unrealistic with the falling forward issue but I find it more fulfilling than being stopped directly in my tracks by a D-back when I am using Saquan Barkeley. I feel like they are prepping for next year with the concept but they are on the right track. I found myself getting stopped at the goal line a lot more than I should have. There have been a couple times when I was running backwards and got hit but still animated forward. I do like the forward momentum change though.

While this looks awful, overall its a huge improvement. For those of use who like to run the ball it has been killer for the last several maddens that HBs have absolutely no clue how to get extra yards on contact without breaking the tackle entirely. Way too many times has a DT sliding off his block knocked my HB backwards, an LB in from the side drops him like a sack of rocks, or a CB with no momentum peeling off his WR makes my HB look like some 5th grade kid. You are dead on that physics including height and weight need to be a part of the game, which madden has yet to consider implementing.*

Yes, but it is triggering almost automatically, regardless of the relative size and momentum of the players, and too often falling against the tackler even when the tackler is to the side of or behind the ball carrier.

THIS. They need to make it relative to the size, momentum and speed of the player. Sometimes they even grab the player and pull them forward 3-4 yards, it just looks odd to me.

It's not an every play thing, but it happens far too much and just looks wonky because it's animation driven.

Hopefully they sort it out because I do like being able to feel like I can get those 3rd and inches with my power back and a good head of steam into the OL.

I think the trouble is that Madden isn't based on a physics driven set up, so, any short term fix that is applied will feel out of place.
