The Walking Dead (Season 9)

I stopped watching after the premiere of Season 8, but I decided to pick this back up when I heard this was going to be Andrew Lincoln's last season.

I'm really enjoying the season so far. The character development has been really good (I did miss a couple of episodes in the first half of the season) and the introduction of the new enemy has been done very well in my mind. There have been fewer WTF moments that killed my enjoyment and led me to stop watching.

I'm glad I picked it back up. Anyone else still watching or watching again?

I'm still watching and enjoying it, so far it's been pretty good without Lincoln, I'm liking the Whispers very much also, not sure which is a zombie or one of them.

I'm still watching as well. Still somewhat indifferent. Don't hate it, don't love it. Just watching until the end at this point.

I too am really liking this season.
I have a huge issue with the whispers tho.
I mean really? Now we can just wear a mask and walk among the zombies?
So stupid!
In the past you had to completely cover yourself in stinking zombie guts to be able to walk among them! And you couldn't talk at all among them even covered in zombie guts or they come after you. These "whispers" can simply wear a mask and talk among them?
Really?

Maybe it's just the evolution of understanding the zombies. Early on, they completely covered themselves, but maybe they went overkill with it and really only needed to hide their faces instead of their smell.

I hadn't thought of that, though. That's a really good point

I guess maybe you just have to cover your head so they cant smell your brains??
But the whole being able to talk among them makes no sense at all.
I remember a long time ago (probably 5 seasons) they were covered in guts trying to escape and the young girl started crying and the zombies immediately attacked them.

I'm okay with the whispering. The change from groaning/snarling/whatever sound they make to whispering is subtle enough for me to buy that the zombies wouldn't notice it. Crying is a big change in sound from what sounds the zombies typically make.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 9)

I'm still watching and think there is potential but what we've seen so far is still not all that great (nor all that bad). When are they going to realize their potential is the key. Use Neegan and the Alpha woman more. And do it sooner rather than later.

My guess is they'll meander through Season 9 at a slow, slow pace then all sorts of things like Neegan, Alpha, Beta and a big war will happen right at the cliffhanger.

This has been a problem with this show for awhile, nothing happens much at all, everything is slow paced, then last ep or two it's CRAZY. They seem to be caught in that cycle.
