College Dynasty Mode Thread

Now that we are in February, we are in full development of a College Dynasty mode that will be released in September with Doug Flutie's Maximum Football 2019.

As we continue development, I will update this post with confirmed features that we have built.

- League Structures: 130 US Teams or 27 Canadian Teams. Similar conference structures.

- All teams can be edited but cannot be shared online due to legal reasons. You may be able to share files offline if the console allows you to.

- There will be conferences and the schedule will have conference and non-conference games.

- Recruiting will be an in-depth points system and you can make different pitches to the recruit. Each recruit will have different motivations and decision making. Schools will have ratings/personality that will attract certain recruits. Similar to NCAA 09 style.

- Recruits will have hometowns (over 4,000 different cities/towns for the US league, there will be 1,100 different Canadian cities/towns for the Canadian league). We have used 9 years worth of real recruit data to generate these hometowns.

- Recruits will have combine stats - 40, Bench, Vertical, etc. This has already been added in.

- We are working on a progression system so 5-star recruits could be a boom or a bust

- Player Suspensions

- Playoff and Bowls

- Redshirting of players is in.

** Latest Update - we are currently working on AI logic for recruiting.

Hoping we will be able to control multiple teams. I would love ability to control all 130 teams. This was main feature lacking in NCAA 14.

Our Season mode in 2018 had the ability to control all teams but we don't have a decision on that for Dynasty at the moment.

We're scoping out how we are going to develop School ratings and what that means to Recruiting. These school ratings (academics, facilities, program prestige etc) could be associated with how well the user performs or even the user influencing what ratings are increased. If that's the case, then controlling multiple teams can get messy.

But we haven't started that part of the game yet - so we'll keep you updated on what the outcome is!

Re: College Dynasty Mode Thread

Will we be able to edit coaches? What about staffs? HC, DC, OC, Special Teams etc?????

What about a coaching carousel at the end of the season?

Player transfers?

Controlling all teams isn't for everyone, but for some (myself included) it is a welcomed edition. I use it I both Madden & NBA 2K. It also comes into play when you have multiple friends or family member who want to play a Dynasty with you and be different schools.

Re: College Dynasty Mode Thread

My thoughts on this mode:

-I am truly excited about the ability to edit / create all of these teams! If this game takes an approach kind of like Super Mega Baseball 2 and just lets us have fun creating schools, I’m going to be all in. There are so many successful recruiting models, even in simple form like NCAA 2004. Just so long as it is a balanced system with gems / busts.

-I think something to think about is features that will give recruiting immersion. Don’t just have names be random dice rolls. Have a random Jr. or III thrown in. Give the names realistic demography.

-Also, make features that will capitalize on all the customization the game will offer. Custom rivalry games, etc.

-Realistic injuries with a slider is a good thing, but also suspensions due to grades, discipline etc. affect college programs too. Maybe have each player have a discipline rating and tie overall team discipline to one of those factors that attracts recruits.

-With any dynasty mode, the aim engine under the hood is important. You need to be able to trust the game to generate realistic stats, box scores, injuries etc. The Force Win feature is a cool thing as well.

Re: College Dynasty Mode Thread

How many offensive formations will there be? Will you be able to switch to a specific formation or will it be tied to a school and you can't change it?

Will there be the ability to build an offense like Bob Debasse Shotgun Triple Option/3 back system?

Here is what it looked like at New Mexico. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjrfqD7x2ws&t=56s

Here is what it looks like at Georgia Southern. Slight differences.

It's honestly just the Flexbone (instead of the QB under center he's in shotgun space) in Shotgun Formation along with Maryland I (3 backs) in shotgun formation (with the ability to motion one 1 yard to either side) if you want to be relative. It allows the offense to attack the horizantal space much quicker and easier, because of how the defense is forced to defend it (there's still 2 recievers out wide on both sides of the field).

Traditional Flexbone offenses like how the Service Academies (Army, Navy, Air Force) run?
