Best Madden for cpu vs cpu

Is there a consensus which version of madden has best results for cpu vs cpu during franchise/season? Haven’t played madden since 12

I like Madden 17. I'll reply in more detail later. At work.

I've actually been working on a slider set for a long time now. I prefer Madden 17 and put it in Super Sim mode, on Slow. There is still a fair amount of clipping but, the models and the animations are so much better in 17 than anything EA has released recently. M16 isn't terrible, much of the engine is there that is in 17. Of course you cannot edit players in Franchise, which means you can't edit the draft classes. 17 also introduced the gap play function, so running the ball is much harder if you balance the sliders on CPU versus CPU than it is in M16.
M18 is crap in my opinion. They introduced the new physics game engine and it is broken. M19 is much the same way. Broken. AI QB play is terrible. The QB will literally turn around and run backwards with his back to the defense. You don't see stuff like that with the QBs in M16 or M17. QBs will actually climb the pocket when need be.
Is it perfect? Of course not. Messing with the sliders, I've come to one conclusion: you will never get everything right. If you fix the excessive tackles for loss, then big plays get cranked up and you see the dreaded breakaway runs or touchdown catches where noone is within 20 yards, especially when momentum changes. If you want to get the yards per play up to a more realistic number, you'll give up huge plays all day and guys like Brock Osweiller will get 350 on you. You tighten up tackling and pass coverage, you get the stupid screen sack. You have to decide what you can live with and go with it. For me personally, I have it down to where good QBs will get decent numbers but the average yards per play is around 5. Garbage RBs won't get 100 on you but the good ones may if you have a decent line and your opponent doesn't scheme for it. Is it jarring to watch carry after carry go for no gain? Sometimes. But late in the game when you start to break some runs against the Texans who held you in check all game ... it's worth it.
If someone knows how to fix the horrendous clipping that takes place after tackle, I'd be interested in that knowledge. Deleting the profile helps sometimes, but I need something more permanent .
Let me know if you want my slider set. Sorry this is kind of a rant. LOL
