Prospect-ightis

Anyone ever feel like they have prospect-ightis on their team?

Meaning you load your roster with guys like Vlad Guerreo Jr , Franchy Cordero , and Forest Whitley. All of these players are very promising but your on field roster is so unproven. Giving you a product that has alot of CAP and few signature animations. In previous versions of The Show I have had Ricky and Jemile Weeks up the middle. Prolly got on the Jemike train a little too early. Something I keep in mind when building a roster.

Re: Prospect-ightis

Yes and I blame OSFM lol
They do such a great job with their prospects its hard not to get excited about playing in the big leagues with them. I think I finally found the will power to be patient in 17. I held back on playing with Acuna and waited till 18 and it was definitely worth the wait. Now, I try to be loyal to the guys already on the 25-man and see if I can steer the ragtags to a pennant. I typically do 2 Braves seasons a year, one with a carryover and another as just a one and done season with that years OSFM.

Re: Prospect-ightis

I tend not to rebuild with the team I play games with. So I empty the system and have fun filling with veterans.

But because of OFSM I absolutely love 30 team control and will manage pretty much every farm system to varying strategies.

Re: Prospect-ightis

I have cause prospects-itis in the past, it's tough to cure. I ended up doing a franchise with an "all-prospect" team. I ended up needing some veteran help but this ends up with a crazy fantasy team that has no "feel" or chemistry that a real team has. I get lost in the franchise I'm trying to get invested in so I go back to my Red Sox franchise. I have a thing for the underdog team so I usually do another franchise with, say, the Braves, as I've always been a fan of there's. However they are competitors now, and with the Sox winning the WS, I may have to find a 3rd team (which is usually Houston for my love Minutemaid Park, is it still called that?)
I love prospects, but I need additions in '19 so I can invest in my prospects and feel like I'm building a team and not just cycling them out (unless they flop, then I'm ok with that)
Idk what those additions are but things to show their value or highlights of what they are doing to remind you, "Hey this kid is the real deal" so I'll invest in him.

Ok I'm done, I've rambled on long enough.

Prospect-itis is real to me damn it!

Re: Prospect-ightis

My problem is I over value even the lower level prospects. I could get offered Mike Trout for a C level prospect and would still have to think over whether I should make the trade

save your money, you dont want trout. his kind are a dime a dozen. but what I'd like for you to consider, maybe parting with Andres Gimenez for Sean Kazmar? put some nice rims and a new radio on him, you basically got yourself a Cadillac with very low MLB miles.*

*not actual miles
