EA UFC 3 Random Thoughts Thread

I figured this would be a good thread to discuss anything regarding the game. To fights you had in ranked or against the AI. To grievances. To your favorite fighter and why. Anything you want to get off your chest. Here goes mine

I had a feel good moment online today. Played against an annoying Jacare who I’ve faced before using Dan Kelly. Three losses to him. And this guy plays very annoying. Just rips uppercuts and leg kick non stop. I’m talking lead uppercut/rear leg kick. Well you would think Dan kelly C+ fighter horrible you got smashed right? Nope. Took this guy down and finished him with GNP in full mount. Hilarious

Oh bet ok. Why do some of y’all like to literally stick to someone like glue, like be in kissing range the entire fight? It’s to the point where your own jabs won’t even work. Make it worse these people are doing it with people like Israel and Anderson Silva I get pressure fighting but man what is this?

Yea I hear you. Fought a GSP the other day who walked me down and threw volume like he was Max Holloway. That combined with his power is just nightmarish to deal with. His stamina was shot but he still retains his power which is still a huge issue

This is my complaint with the pressure fighting. It seems like so many tactics in game are found nowhere in real MMA fights:

1) Driving Takedown: This happens occasionally... but certainly not from the the center of the GD cage.

2.) Sticking like glue: When? How? Who? This almost never happens in an mma fight

3.) Volume of strikes: Just show me a 5 round GSP fight where he threw 300 stikes... Okay... cant find one? Show me a fight where he threw 200. YOU WONT FIND IT!!! THE MOST HE THREW WAS AGAINST JOHN FITCH (131) http://www.fightmetric.com/fighter-d...06c1d34da9c013

I am so sick of this high output BS. Guys just stick to you and throw 2 or strike combos like it is nothing.

Volume and pressure is intended to make people panic. When people panic, they can become predictable. If I'm not confident standing in front of someone, I won't. Until then, give me reason not to.

That being said, I've had matches vs Holloways that have consisted of three rounds of him throwing those signature straights and me blocking, slipping or lunging then getting a short counter. It's a shame that pushing forward and alternating between square + triangle can reap such reward (difficult to deal with). My plan will be to deal with this with grappling once I get better at it.

I hope this changes next game. Two biggest issues that need to be addressed are stamina and grappling. You should not be able to throw 100+ strikes a round and still have over 50 percent stamina. Only 5 fighters can do that and none are above featherweight

On another note anyone else tired of Bishop/Frost at HW? They are easier to deal with as opposed to launch but it’s still abnoying getting blasted with a random straight during an exchange. Stipe is a perfect counter to those guys. Good boxing and wrestling

I really hope once they are done with patches/fighters adds that they place guys in correct divisions. Still got barao missing from BW, Johnson from FW, etc
