What is up with MyTeam Packs?

Hey guys,

first: yes, this is a whiny bitch thread about how I feel treated unfair by 2K.
I just want to hear, you guys feel the same or may have some tips or anything.

I like the new cards in MyTeam, like the signature series. I got lucky and only spent around 200 $ to draw AI and Blake Griffin. 200 $. 200.

200 dollars 2k made by just creating an electronic card with absolute no cost to them. Yes, I know, I am the fool who paid the price.

But still: Recently there where many cards, I really wanted to get, PD Magic, Diamant Kobe, Diamant Jordan, PD Kemba, and so on and so on..

I roughly spent 500 $ dollars on packs and only got two signature players, around 8 diamonds 12 amethysts and loads of rubies and sapphires...

Am I the only one unlucky? For paying 500$ you should get any card you want! 500$ dollars 2k got from me with absolutely no cost to them for creating and distributing those cost. Subtract the PSN share and taxes and they keep the rest.

Are you this unlucky, too?

I mean, playing FIFA ultimate team last year, spent around 200$ the whole season and nearly got any player I wanted. And with those I dind't need and I sold, I was able to build many fun teams to play. But in 2K I feel so damn unrewarded for paying money, and I was even this unlucky by spending MT I gained through the different game modes in MyTeam.

Something really goes wrong. I mean, 2k got me and many others to pay for VC, so reward us! How can you be this greedy? And where is the community standing up?

Last, I know I am the damn fool spending this hugh amount of money. I am not nearly a millionaire but a hard working student... A stupid student spending this money for electronic cards which are gone with NBA 2k20. I hate 2K and myself.

I agree completely. You hit many points, especially how the cards are always meaningless by the next installment of 2k & how we as a consumer are always smart enough to know that packs are a rip-off, yet we buy them anyways.


The important thing to remember is that we should treat it just for fun and enjoyment. The moment we get frustrated and feel ripped off is when it becomes a waste of money. I wasted HUNDREDS of dollars on MyTeam 2k17, and literally have nothing to show for it since those servers have since been shut down, but I'll always have the memories of having lots of fun with it.


And I'm a student like you, hopefully graduating in May with a coaching degree to do Jr. High or High School Bball. I've always used MyTeam as my personal laboratory since 2k14, kinda figuring out what types of players work well with different types of systems & so-forth. 4 years studying that will hopefully translate into the real world for me as a coach (even if it's just a small translation lol).

Holy cow, i mean, reading this post, im gonna vomit, is this really a video game? im always asking myself this when i see posts like this and looking at how they develop these game modes, nba 2k now is literally 80% monetization scheme 20% basketball video game, next year it might be 90% unless the Federal Trade Commission finally digs into Take Two Interactive.
