Advice on Legacy?

So I'm UT Martin in my Career Legacy. My 1st ever. I have never played this game before this. I mostly sim. Maybe 90% is simming. I play 2-3 games a year or something.

I do the rotations, redshirts etc... everything that I know of at least. Pep talks...

Recruiting. I do all that manually also.

I just wanted to explain my format, how I do things and see what you guys do differently or think about what I do.

Basically I sim week to week. As recruiting resets weekly.

As far as the ABL goes... this is basically a summer league where you can play as the recruits you talk to during the year right? And figure out who you want to go after early?

I target 15 guys in the ABL that have interest. I'm UT MARTIN so I can easily snag a 1 star guy, but I go after 2 stars and a few 3 stars. I've gotten two 3 star guys so far. It was very tough and required a lot of "email" recruit and "phone recruit" constantly... etc

I tried a couple 4 star guys, but I only got them up to like 67%, and realized quickly that I have no chance in hell in landing a 4 star recruit with my 13-15 UT Martin squad from the Ohio Valley conference with a RPI of like 220.

So I focus on several 2's and a few 3s. I get screwed over for the 2 star players too lol

It's fun. I just sim out the ABL. I don't play that.

I redshirt anyone I can for depth, or if they are under 55 OVR and I set a lineup of usually 8 or 9 deep. I put my minutes in there with starters getting 28-35 per night and bench getting like 12-16.

When I recruit, I try to attack the guys that are more interested, and scout etc...

Is there a way to see my past recruits? And a way to see my team prestige?

Any suggestions would be nice.

I'm really enjoying Choops 2k8. It's fantastic. Just new, and I think I'm doing all the right things.

If you want to build your team up quick you should recruit the "world", these recruits rarely get offered scholarships and allow you to land 4 and 5 star players early in a legacy. After that, focus on regional recruits. You can view the recruits player card to see what teams are recruiting them and if they've offered scholarships.

While this game is fun to sim, it's sim engine is actually pretty terrible. Even the number 1 team in the country will have as many as 5-8 losses in a season. The recruits that enter the game are so highly rated that the power conference schools end up with teams full of 90+ rated players. The recruits the cpu creates in legacy also have ZERO standing dunk rating, so like no big men dunk in games, it was a pretty bad oversight from the developers....

Have fun man!

And yes, this thread is in the wrong place
