Stat You Take Most Pride In

Hey everyone,

I thought it would be fun to start a thread where people discuss the stat that they take most pride in while playing this game, especially in franchise mode or RTTS.

Maybe it’s wins as a team, wins as an idividual pitcher, saves as an idivdual pitcher, batting average as a team, batting average as an idivual player, home runs, RBIs, strikeouts, walks, fielding percentage...anything.

For me personally, it’s without a doubt walks in my franchise. I see about 150 pitches at the plate per game and try and work the count in my favor in every at bat. Seeing and waiting on the one pitch I want to hit. This has inevitably also led to my batting average as a team being higher as well, but when I have a game where I can force 5 or more walks, for me, that’s a lot of fun. I set a goal to led the majors as a team in walks before the season started and right now I am in 5th place. Close, but not quite there.

Anyways I’m curious what all of your favorite stats to go after are. Im guessing different stats mean different things to different people. Please share away!

My walks as a batter, without question.

Pitching, probably strikeouts.

Walks as a batter are definitely high up there.

As far as pitching, strike outs is good. But I also think WHIP is something to pay attention to.

Re: Stat You Take Most Pride In

OBP and WHIP are the two stats I care about the most, at least from a personal performance perspective. I've really stepped up my plate discipline this year, and it was already at a good level.

I like to work on taking 15 balls a game. I know that doesn’t sound like a lot, but for me it is since I used to just swing at LITERALLY anything when I was younger. I also like to make every pitch for my pitchers have confidence. It’s the little things for me, and they end up making me better

Re: Stat You Take Most Pride In

Walk here as well. For both batter and pitching. I try and work the pitchers but as the game goes by, I lose patience and rush a bit to get the game done with. But I’ve noticed some games I’d have a chance at the end to come back, and I would actually really work the pitchers and when I get walk, I get excited more than beginning of the games especially with me losing patience and getting it back.

As for pitching. I use classic and I almost never give up walks (I pitch outside the zone too) but with right sliders and I’ve noticed I give up more walks now. Sure it’s not a good statistic but at least I know my pitchers are human and makes mistake lol.
