Rock Chalk, Jayhawk! | Maize's Kansas Dynasty

NCAA 2007 on PS2 - Idaho (DC)
NCAA 2008 on PS2 - Kent State (DC), Michigan (MM)
NCAA 2009 on PS2 - New Mexico State (MM)
NCAA 2010 on PS2 - Notre Dame (OS)
NCAA 2011 on PS3 - Kent State (OS/VSN/DSS)
NCAA 2012 on PS3 - UCLA (DSS)
NCAA 2013 on PS3 - Duke (DSS), Kentucky (VSN/DSS)
NCAA 2014 on PS3 - UNLV (SS/OS), Eastern Michigan (OS)
NCAA (14) 2015 on PS3 - Michigan (OS)
NCAA (14) 2018 on PS3 - UMass (OS)
NCAA (14) 2019 on PS3 - Kansas (OS)

Now that we are halfway through the college football season, I've decided to change directions for my next dynasty. What I've always loved about NCAA 14 is rebuilding programs and building dynasties from the ground-up. After getting a sense of the 2018 football season, it made sense that I change teams.

While I love Texas Tech, I was struggling to connect and come up with additional storylines. I was also concerned that it might be too easy to build up the program. That's not the problem at Kansas. Kansas is one of the worst Power 5 conference programs in college football.

I fondly remember those scrappy Mark Mangino teams, the Orange Bowl appearance, and the descent that followed - back to the basement of the Big XII. The program has become a laughing stock. A new Athletic Director probably means changes are in store for the program this offseason.

The nice thing about staying in the Big XII is that I can keep the realignment and conference expansion storylines. As always, my focus will be on writing on realism. I think the roster project this year in incredible, so I want to do my best to create a realistic rebuilding project at Kansas.

Dynasty Information
Platform: Playstation 3
Gameplay Level: Heisman
Quarter Length: 8 Minutes
Sliders: Boss Hawg's (Check out his Youtube Channel)
Rosters: NCAA Football 14: 2018-19 Roster Update
Scheduling: Realism is the key. I will try to stick to the future schedule and also stick to how they usually schedule games for any holes in the schedule.
Redshirts: I am allowed to redshirt true freshmen, transfers, and back-up skill position players. I only redshirt 5 players per season, although some players will not play and will be redshirted but available to use.
Recruiting: All-American Level
In-Season Updates: Top 25 and Heisman watch will be updated every week. Individual statistics will be updated after the first five games, after the tenth game, then after the final game of the season. Conference standings will be updated after eight games and then at the end of the season.
In-Game: Choose one of the selected "Ask the Coach" plays on First and Second Down. Then on third down, I am on my own. Try to create realistic statistics, so bring in back-ups if the game gets out of reach. Adjust sliders after every four games if needed. I will also simulate 3-4 games per season to help create realistic season stats.

Re: Rock Chalk, Jayhawk! | Maize's Kansas Dynasty

Feel free to post!

My plan right now is to sim until the final five games of the season. They might not be the exact same five games in real life, but that will give me a good starting point. I'll make sure to match the team's record in real life. Expect the first game posted on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Before that, I'll have an article on the beginning of the season and one on David Beaty, his buyout and the new AD Jeff Long.

Re: Rock Chalk, Jayhawk! | Maize's Kansas Dynasty

Comcast to Buy ‘Majority’ of Fox Sports Regional Networks
It seems the final domino is about to fall in Disney's reported purchase of 21st Century Fox assets. Over the past year, Disney and Comcast entered into a bidding war for the rights to a package of Fox-owned entertainment assets including FX, multiple film production companies and a controlling stake in Hulu.

After Disney's initial bid and Comcast's counter, Disney went all-in and offered over 70 billion. The US Department of Justice accepted the $71.4 billion dollar sale, with one exception. Disney could not acquire the 22 Fox Sports Regional channels. This would create an "anti-competitive conflict," with Disney owning ESPN and then taking a larger ownership in the rights to live sporting events.

Disney agreed to the terms, going forward with the sale and then looked for a buyer for the regional sports channels. Those channels, including the YES! Network in New York, have exclusive deals with many sports franchises to carry live sporting events.

Disney, after maneuvering around Comcast for the deal with Fox, has now partnered with Comcast to sell them a majority of the Fox Sports Regional Networks. The deal will not be finalized until after the new year. This will also give the regional networks, and their partners, a chance to begin a transition plan for their networks and programming.

This acquisition was leaked after information came out about the sale of the YES Network. When the Yankees sold a controlling interest of their own network to Fox; they include a clause that triggered a buyback if Fox sold their regional sports networks.

When the Disney deal was finalized, the New York Yankees began negotiating to buy full control of the YES Network. YES, besides being home to all Yankees games, also features the Brooklyn Nets and New York City FC games on its network. The network was valued at $4.5 billion dollars, easily the most valued regional sports network in the United States.

The Yankees agreed to buy 80% of the YES Network, paying $3.6 billion for the 80% that was once owned by Fox. They in turn sold their 20% stake to the Alibaba Group, the company owned by Joseph Tsai, the minority owner of the Brooklyn Nets.

This deal now leaves 21 Fox Sports Regionals to be sold, with Comcast expected to purchase a large majority of the remaining regional networks. Comcast already operates seven regional sports networks, branded under NBC Sports. Those networks were originally established as Comcast SportsNet. Yet following Comcast's purchase of NBC Universal, the networks were rebranded. The same rebranding is expected to be done with the networks Comcast is purchasing from Disney.

This acquisition of regional sports networks by Comcast could have an impact on the next round of media deals by leagues, sports franchises, and even college sports conferences. Comcast is pushing NBC Sports to become a bigger player in live sporting events. This billion-dollar deal will have a major effect on the sports media landscape for the next decade.

It appears your records are based off of Texas Tech. Is that the case?
