2K Killed Play Online For Me

With the decision to force players in the 'Play Online' mode to use different teams to advance, this mode has become unplayable for me. I understand the desire to curb the cheesers who only use the Warriors and Rockets, but how could a sports game dev team actually think it's a good idea overall to curtail players from using their favorite teams whenever they'd like? I'm just a Blazers fan who wants to use my team online. How the hell could that be programmed out of a sports game?

For the past two iterations of 2K, I've played online ranked games exclusively. Just lost interest in franchise mode and never cared for MyCareer. If I didnt download the game I would just return it.

Does this decision completely ruin Play Now Online for anyone else?
