Reach & Height

We see this with fighters like Overeem, Jon Jones, Gustafsson, Rockhold, Weidman in my opinion. These fighters are under used for this reason from my perspective, so I'm just wondering if everyone else thinks that an excess of height and reach is a disadvantage in this game. I think this is one of the most important things to look at nearing the end of the patch cycle, pressure fighting with short guys has been the number one strat for a long time now.

You simply can not win against someone with good striking skills and take down defense. Jon Jones is the most extreme example. His punches are insanely slow. By the time you throw a jab, your opponent has landed a three punch combo.

Yeah it's hard. I think if elbows had more than a 1 millimeter range, that would help quite a bit. But they have to literally be standing against you for the regular standing elbow strikes to land.

also, lead elbow still doesn't work 75% of the time it lands and does 0 damage.

Re: Reach & Height

The standing elbow problems have been there since the beta, must not be an easy fix because it sticks out like a sore thumb

Re: Reach & Height

There's really no way to utilize height and reach advantage. It's too easy to get close and stay close with a shorter fighter. I get by with taller fighters, but boy do I feel the speed disadvantage when I use Volkov against a decent Cormier.

Re: Reach & Height

as much as they slander me for saying pressure fighting is op it is distance management 6 patches in still hasnt been fixed. they take only the supposed elite players opinions. even not holding high block as long as they move forward you wont get them out of your face.you can teep kick but theyre easy to catch. the push is useless.

mindless 4 peices are rewarded. technical fighting is viewed as "boring" by people who only became fans when mcgregor became popular. its not running. its not being a coward. the players who say this are the biggest spammers in the community.they refuse to lower their output- the appropriate counter. instead they demand it be nerfed. long guard is useless as it forces you directly back against the cage.

when confronted with statistics they deflect by referencing something not relevant to the situation. they voice they dont care by saying "aggression sorry not sorry" they dont care if you want realism. spam is worse this game then ufc 2. you cannot buff outside fighting and inside fighting at the same time or its a useless buff. dominick cruz and jones are impossible to replicate

I’m with you king. They just don’t hear us I feel nearly exactly the same way you do.

As for a direct reply for the thread, I think maybe instead of doing a 2 frame start up, just do 1 frame, then the disadvantage is still there. A shorter fighter should be at a disadvantage against someone bigger than them because the taller fighter can hit them from further away (which is needless to say)

This 2 frame thing would work and be fine imo if we could reliably fight outside
