2k needs to borrow NBA Live dribbling system

NBA Live dribbling system feel so much better it actually feels like you're controlling the ball-handler and you're pulling off moves naturally.

Well NBA 2K feels very arkady and very cheesy to use their dribbling system and it needs a complete overhaul and should take notes from NBA Live which almost has it has aitperfect

I don't think they need to change the system. They just need to improve the responsiveness of it. Live's is decent, but still very limited in what you're able to do at this point.

The thing I like about Live's dribbling system probably wouldn't work with 2K because of the shot stick. I like how you can hold the stick left or right to do a hesi in that direction and then branch into another move from there. The dribbling in Live has a good rythym and flow to it once you get use to the feel.

That said I do love 2k's shot stick. Just seems more intuitive than using a button or Live's attempt at shooting with the right stick. If 2k can continue to improve responsiveness and fluidity I'll be happy.

They had a perfect solution in 2k13. Using LT/L2 as a modifier for shooting. If you weren't holding the trigger, the stick would only be used for dribbling. Once you held the trigger, it became the shot stick.

I wish they would've kept that.

I'm pretty sure that its still in the settings as an option.

EDIT: NVM just checked its only for dribble option....I remember one of the 2k's having it as an option

I'm probably again minority, but go back and play NBA 2k11 or nba 2k12. I thought that was the most intuitive control scheme and you could even go back to the regular controls with doing the dribble moves with the right stick if you wanted. Arguably, that's why many people still say 2k11 is the best 2k they ever did. Simple, yet awesome controls.

Re: 2k needs to borrow NBA Live dribbling system

Live used to be the standard for 1:1 dribbling with th the stick, after their most recent implementation that's no longer the case, too many "dead spots". I very much so prefer 2k's RS dribbling....especially after 18 with the amount of chaining into shots you can pull off. The problem was more of the reaction to defenders presence than the actual controls IMO.

and theres NO way I'd ever go back to a LT modifier...

As for dribbles I think live is okay but you don't have as many moves as 2k but what I do like about live is the harden step back you can get into it so fast it feels great.in 2k it's super slow and barley gives you any room then if u do the other hope step back it does like a animations so you can keep dribbling if you want and that makes that move suck... hopefully that's better but I doubt it no one seems to bring it up
