Editing player ratings before starting a franchise mode

Do any of you edit player ratings realistically before staring your franchise series? For instance I will find it hard not to edit Taylor Gabriel's speed when it doesn't match the scale they typically use and is a reduction is speed from last year.

I've never played Madden Franchise with standard, out-of-the-box rosters.

I always heavily edit , both existing players attributes and adding in missing players , to satisfy my own world view but I'd use caution in use of the word realistic here
What is realistic will vary from one person to another , which tends to be why the EA versions are always such a hot topic for debate , and such a huge promotional tool

Always and during my first season of CFM as well. End up seeing things I don't care for as the season progresses that I didn't catch.

I haven't before, but I will this year. Garoppolo, Wentz, and Watson are some names that I'll boost a tad bit, especially Graoppolo so he kind of matches his pay. I also may adjust some of the rookies. I'd like to find a balance to mesh the rookies in well with the veterans, without the rookies being too strong.

I do every year. Examples I’ve already seen. Take the two rookie WR’s drafted in the first round this year. One of them completely dominated the other in physical miserables D.J. Moore. But the one that went to the team that is supposed to be an offensive juggernaut got way better physical attributes Calvin Ridley. Explanation please?

Re: Editing player ratings before starting a franchise mode

I edit before starting my franchise and during. I am constantly adding memorable players from the past into the game.... I'm an Eagles fan so I have to create people like Reggie White, Donovan McNabb, Randall Cunningham and so forth.

During the season, I like to create people like Bo Jackson, Lawrence Taylor, Steve Young, etc etc because I want them to be free agents and see what kind of contracts they will get.

Now, if the question is do I say "wow... I think Odell Beckham is rated too high/too low, I'm going to change that right now" the answer is no. Whatever rating EA gives a player, I pretty much leave it as is, but I always create players... both real and fictional.
