Franchise Draft Prospect Edits

What edits do you guys make to drafted prospects to make them fit with the rosters better? Looking for global edits, as in average # of players who should be at x potential or overall, etc.

From my roster thread, should work with SCEA default rosters as well:


I will be doing the following:
-If RP/CP is selected in rounds 1-3, I will convert them to SPs.
-For the top 10 picks, if the player is 21 or older, OVR = potential - 20
-For the top 10 picks, if the player is under 21, OVR = potential - 30

For the first 2 rounds, I will try to make sure players project to fit into the following archetypes:
-Power hitter
-Contact hitter
-Balanced/All-Around hitter
-5 tool player (top picks)
-Strikeout pitcher
-Control pitcher
-Groundball pitcher
-Balanced pitcher

So you think the potentials are fine and the overalls are the only thing screwed up?

How often do you end up seeing players in their mid-20s get to the high 80s or 90s?

Tonight I simmed to 2030 and noticed there were virtually no young all-star-caliber players outside of a couple on my team and a few real players (seems like CPU drafted players don't progress much at all).

I’ve only simmed 4-5 seasons deep but I’ve done it many times. I’ve come to the conclusion that players just take too long develop.

Every sim I have done, the Braves, White Sox and Padres rebuilds are all busts. Nearly every prospect those teams have is still in AAA with a mid-70s overall. This seems new for 2018 as I recall my test sims in 2017 resulting is some prospects becoming all-star caliber players within 2-3 years.

I guess the only way around it is to take the guys you think are legit MLB players and edit their ratings manually.

The big one for me is unless they are an established Major Leaguer no Potentials over 95. If they are truly a 99 they will develop into one, but that's just me
