Formation subs seem to have ruined my defense

I have searched google, reddit, and this forum and haven’t seen anyone with this issue. Or at least I haven’t seen anyone post about it.

I used form subs on defense, and noticed today that some of my nickel formations have players with 0 as their number. When I go in and actually call a play these spots are filled with my quarterbacks. I’ve tried switching books, resetting form subs, totally stumped.

Anyone seen this? Anyone know a trick to resetting subs?

In formations where I've used formation subs, I've had instances of either being a player short on the DL, or Kyle Juszcyk shows up as one of my linemen.

Somewhere on the formation sub screen, there's a button to reset them. I did that and gave up on using them for defense.

Gah. Yeah I’ve tried the reset, and it shows they reset but when I load up play calling it spazzes anyways

The player 0 is injured and for some reason the sub package will not replace the injured player with a adequate replacement, I quit using formation sub because of this issue. Just like any other bug in madden, adapt overcome improvise and accept it for what it is. A video game.

I haven’t had any issues since I reset. I reset offense too. Maybe that has something to do with it?
