A temporary work around for sway spam.

This is a tricky thing to pull off against sway spammers that are actual good with the fundamentals of the game, but it can still work. Mainly this strategy is for people who ONLY start combos or strikes off of sways. You've probably already faced it, in fact.

I reintroduce you all. . . to hook spam.

Now, the obvious flaw in this strategy is the duck, right? Wrong. You can only be ducked while spamming hooks if you are moving. Moving hooks lose the speed advantage of stationary hooks.

If you are standing still in punch/clinch range of your opponent and you are the FIRST to throw a strike, your hooks CANNOT be stopped or avoided. They can only be blocked or moved away from.

The best way to use this strategy is to establish that your opponent is indeed being way too predictable with his sways (of any direction). You then hold high block and get into range. You can either take a chance and fire first, but it is safer to wait and take the sway uppercut/hook on your block first and THEN start firing your hooks because often they spammer will immediately try to sway and strike again when blocked. Once your opponent gets wise to what you're doing, you'll have to start getting the timing right and firing before them to catch their sway. This works against ducks and side sways. I haven't tested the lean back though.

Now, if you are fighting someone who knows what they are doing, you can be baited into losing stamina either on their guard or via the back lunge. That's why I qualified this at the beginning. It isn't an instant cure-all to sway spam, only something to help you out in dealing with it until we get a proper fix. Hope it helps.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Dude, have you tried blocking? If someone initiates offense with a sway strike and you block it, it gives you an automatic frame advantage.

Sway spam = effective head movement apparently

This is annoying right now. Instead of everyone making tutorials on how to stop sway spamming why don't they just stop it already and do something about it for.it not to be a thing in the game. I don't get it.. fix it already

It actually doesn't now that people only throw one strike after a sway. It used to be that people preloaded combos so you could block and land a jab-rear hook.

But, I'm sure the developers are trying to fix the head movement for nothing and that you know much more than the gamechangers and top players.

Yeah, considering how abusive and OP it is I'm surprised this hasn't been a more urgent issue. Basically everybody on the forum has been saying it since day 1, the duck/sway uppercuts and slip strikes are too much. I mean it's really, really, really annoying and the game definitely isn't playable unless something is done. If we have to wait next month for a patch to address this I won't be playing very often until then. I certainly hope they nerf the hell out of it.

The moving duck and uppercut is the most ridiculous and annoying thing I've ever witnessed in an mma game. Honestly though, I think it's more the animation than anything, it just looks ugly. If the animation wasn't so bad I don't think I'd mind it as much tbh.

Considering a large proportion of that top 100 leaderboard with exception of my two friends and a few others are all spammers, I'd say he does.
