RIVALS 2025-2026 DISCUSSION

***** COACHES

•New jobs are 2 years minimum, you get 1 1-year contract

•Create a coach, make the Alma Mater a school you want... PLAYBOOKS must be the school you choose or a Generic PB, cannot change throughout the season

•New members at any point have to start in the American conference

• Postseason: Any players that want to transfer or leave early cannot be swayed

****** RECRUITING

- Anyone in your pipeline can be recruited
- Any one who is not your pipeline but has you top 5 can be recruited
- No Athletes
- Only true freshman can be redshirted

***** GENERAL IN-GAME RULES

- MIX UP YOUR PLAYBOOK ON OFFENSE.. play calling should be more like the NFL than NCAA, dont be repetitious

- MIX UP YOUR PLAYBOOK ON OFFENSE.. even if you run or pass 50 times a game just mix up the plays.. EX if you want to play it safe and only run up the middle or throw short passes there should still be diversity in the play calls

***** BANNED ON OFFENSE

- shotgun flex runs, if your pb has alot of shotgun flex formations switch it
- no read option style offense
- 5 wide
- 4verts
- user catches
- oline shifts

***** BANNED ON DEFENSE

- run commit
- 1-5-5
- user catches

***** PRESNAP OFFENSE

- ONLY ONE presnap adjustment can be made on offense regardless of what it is (audible, flipped play, hot route, etc.)
- NO presnap adjustment for No huddle
- ONLY EXCEPTION for either is adding a blocker with a hot route

***** PRESNAP DEFENSE

- only MANUALLY move 1 player presnap
- can not walk up past linebacker level

***** 4TH DOWN RULE (NO EXCEPTIONS)

a) 4th and 1 past the 50
b) 4th and whatever if you're down in the 4th quarter (in user games you can go for it if youre up in the 4th quarter past the 50)

***** QB RUNNING

- QBs can only have 5 carries not including sacks (6 carries is a suspension, minimum 3 games)
- QB runs between the tackles are fine whenever, you CANNOT sprint to the sideline and throw
- IF YOU CALL A DESIGNED ROLLOUT OR ANY PLAY-ACTION YOU CAN LEAVE THE POCKET TO THROW OR RUN (only time you're allowed to do so)

***** SPECIAL TEAMS

- NO KICK RETURNS FROM THE ENDZONE

•DO NOT adjust the ingame coaching strategies (aggressive, balanced, conservative) unless its chew clock late in the game

***** ADVANCES

•Advances will be set for every 3 days as long as the league is small. Play the games you feel like playing

•You can sim any game you want (NO SUPER SIMMING), if the advance day comes up and really havent had time to play but want to I will extend the deadline.

•I expect User games to at least START getting scheduled THE DAY OF or before advance day.. if one player tries to schedule it and the other waits too long they will be put on auto

***** THREAD

•Game write ups are not necessary at all but AT LEAST putting RTA and the score

Re: RIVALS 2025-2026 DISCUSSION

RIVALS
We bring in the new year with a total of 9 guys, the most we've had in a while. After adjusting the settings to what hopefully will actually be the last set we saw alot of teams struggle last year with mediocre teams. The scrutiny of last years seasons has alot of teams exited to start fresh this season. For the first time in a long time only 3 out of the 9 total users start the season ranked with Miami and Texas being 2 of the best in the country. As they look to remain on top through the duration of this long tough season there are other teams hoping to slowly join the conversation. JP returns with Ohio State and his ability to maximize his talent should be apparent once he gets back in the flow. The sleeper pick of this season is probably TCU who has the best backfield of all U5 teams, which could make Joker dangerous if he's around at the end of the year. Notre Dame, Louisville, UCF and Michigan State are all middle of the pack potentially 7-8 win type teams. Kentucky is a rebuilding team who started hot last season but couldnt sustain it. Louisville Sr RB Larry Jude is the front runner for this years Heisman after running for 1700 and 21 tds last season. He's had over 315 carries in each of the past 2 seasons so I expect a Louisville to lean on him heavy this year. Sleeper pick is TCU's RB Jeremiah Harrington, if Joker sticks around this year this kid will be in the conversation I guarantee it. College football never goes as plans so as another year of college football kicks off welcome back to Rivals boys.

WEEK 1

***** GAME OF THE WEEK *****

This is a pretty big opening week game between 2 major conferences for power. OU has one of if not the hardest schedules in the country so a win over Wisconsin to start the season would be huge for their momentum. Wisconsin on the other hand doesnt have many obstacles ahead of them although the obstacles they do have will be a challenge. They need to take advantage of this big home game against a good team. These teams are fairly even on paper. The Xfactor in my opinion will be the Oline of Wisconsin. Both teams have strong run games and weapons in the pass game but below average QBs, Wisconsins Oline could be the difference in who can get those weapons the ball if the run games struggle. I like Wisconsin in a close game.

***** GAMES TO WATCH *****
Georgia @ Arkansas
- The Bulldogs have been irrelevant over the past 5-6 years. They have a solid offense this year and hope to make a little noise in the East. Arkansas has been solid since Jak was there but need to sustain that talent level to stay relevant in this tough conference.

Kentucky @ Louisville
- Ricardo has his work cut out for him this season with no QB. After leaving SMU who was able to recruit from Texas, it looks like things could get scary in UK. Cards have the preseason Heisman favorite at RB, we'll see if he can have an impact i this game or not.

NEXT ADVANCE
TUESDAY

- Joe fix your coaching tree to match mine, leave your OC/DC at zero

- Rules : Read that first post, I organized it a little better but read it for a refresher

- Clarity on One rule: For QBs if you call a PA pass or designed roll out thats the only time you can freely sprint outside. Just getting pressure is not an excuse, play the way we always have outside of that. Taking off between the tackles or hashes is fine tho. 5 carry rule still applies so people dont get carried away.

Glad to see rival magazine back. Don't think you've done one of those since the all SEC days.

RIVALS 2025-2026 DISCUSSION

Heisman favorite Larry “Cockkk Strong” Jude not only broke hearts but broke ankles as well. Before the game he told me, “Drop the leash and I’m ready to run all over um coach”. Coach Ricky stopped my go to counter but everything else was looking good and we played extremely well. Preston had a perfect air attack against the wildcats and defense got two huge turnovers that help lead the Cards past their biggest nemesis Kentucky.

After the game I was asked by a reporter “How’d it feel coach?” I said I haven’t forgot about that field goal one bit.... made the seniors watch the timeout and field goal over and over again all week. Can’t wait to see what all this young men can do this season.
