Poll: Increase Damage of Single Collar Strikes?

During the Beta I ran an experiment where I tried to see how many uppercuts in single collar clinch it took to do appreciable damage to your opponent.

This thread has the details:

https://forums.operationsports.com/f...ore-power.html

To summarize:

It took approx. 50-60 uppercuts before any damage was done to the test dummy. At that point, his head began to flash. The next 50 or so uppercuts took his 'head health bar' down from full to near-zero.

So it takes ~100-120 uppercuts in single collar to kill someone lol

Simple poll --- do you want uppercuts (and elbows!) in single collar to do MORE damage; LESS damage; or SAME damage?

Discuss below

Personally I want their damage to be increased x3 or x4

A dozen or more uppercuts in single collar should start putting some serious dents into your health bar (and skull)

A couple dozen ---- you should probably be dead lol

I do like how MT strikes are handled in UFC 3 as compared to UFC 2. I wouldn't mind only being able to throw a few strikes in Single Collar before clinch was broken --- or if opponent blocks strike with good timing, clinch is broken or reversed or something ----

but to get to that next level, we at least need strikes to do SOME damage right??

I don't want tehhhhh clinch cheeeezzzzzzzz --- but come on --- 100+ uppercuts! lol

Maybe this would make some clinch perks and stats more worthwhile

I couldn't agree more uppercuts should do way more damage than they do in single collar. It feels like a useless strike and irl they can be fight enders

Re: Poll: Increase Damage of Single Collar Strikes?

Increase damage and enable health events from single collar. Damage should be less than from MT clinch, but much more than currently in game.

Won’t be OP because players can block high and low in single collar. Also, increasing transition speed in single collar and MT clinch (specifically speed up escapes) would make these positions more dynamic and realistic, and prevent spammers from exploiting the added damage.

Over under/double under/back clinch should all remain the same (transition speed and damage), except maybe add more damage to knees to the body from these positions.

Increase damage for single collar strikes and increase speed for ALL clinch transitions(excluding cage)

Agreed. It happens irl quite often. Single collar, elbows, hooks, and uppercuts should cause clinch breaks/health events.

lol that's a pretty extreme example and will likely make folks cry FOUL and CHEEZE ---- but then again it DID happen in real life haha and opponent was trying to throw knees while eating uppercuts

So far --- 6 votes to increase SC Damage; 1 to keep it the same.

Not to muddy the water with a side-topic --- but personally I wish Double Underhooks was a bit more of a controlling position.

Maybe i just suck with denials there, they are tricky lol, but I do find it very difficult to hold anyone in that position at all, even if I have superior stats and stamina.

Should be a pretty controlling position if you obtain it, where you can go for a TD or push them against cage 'almost' at will (depending on stats, stamina, and your skill of course)

Over/Under and MT are in pretty good shape in balance terms though (all considering)

Is there an option for completely bin the clinch off and start again.

It is a bit of a mess tbf it just looks stupid stood in the middle of the cage jockeying for position neither person moving.

It happens for both the dominant and submissive fighter, irl.

It would allow for the sub fighter to strike out of the clinch too so it would be fair. Plus blocking for the dominant opponent and we have balance.
