Beta striking was better

They nerfed the damage and counters. Also nerfed straight counters. I dont get how the actual product is not as good. Striking was so fluid in the beta. They need to patch this seriously.

Agreed. The stand up is SO spammy now. People throwing 500 strikes a fight and still having gas in the 5th. The only way to even get a close to realistic stamina fight is in the higher weight classes with 5 rounds. Extremely disappointing.

Re: Beta striking was better

How does my opponent lose no long term stamina for getting rocked? How do they only lose short term stamina for 3 secs???

every fights using combo spamming on ranked. Lack of stamina penalty. Whats going on the game? Again combo cheese this year.

Re: Beta striking was better

Why they don't just patch it back? It was way better before these stupid changes.

Re: Beta striking was better

The game encourages combos.

The defenses are:
1- A well timed simultaneous shot, if you're able to safely predict their combo start.
2- Moving head away from first shot & instantly countering, if you're able to safely predict.
3- Getting away fast with foot movement modifier.
4- Hold block and wait for your turn

Thing is, the chances of you pulling off 1 is tricky.

Chances of you pulling off 2 vs the risk factor for going the wrong way is HUGE.

Option 3 is possible till you run out of space, PLUS the speed they come forward at is very fast & it's stamina taxing to use foot movement modifier.

So you're left with option 4 mostly.

Things that aren't an option if you want to live:
1- Head movement fully defensive Garbrandt style
2- Shooting for their legs
3- Landing punches inbetween their combo punches

Then add input delay to the above & online ping delay and what can you expect? People will and should combo if they want to win.

How is it that it's taken one or two days for people on the forums to figure this out but the team at EA couldn't see this ahead of time?
