Pick and roll issues in Play Now online

They were packing the paint on defense.

Whenever I tried to run a pick and roll, the pick setter would set the pick on one of the defenders in the paint. I could never get him to set the pick on the player covering me and then fade to the 3 point line.

I'm a relative newbie online and usually utilize p n r and my whole game was thrown off because of this.

What happened? Is this a glitch or a bug? Was it because he was using zone defense, even so why would my player set the screen on a random player in the paint?
