Myteam Online is Complete and Total Garbage

Myteam online is absolutely dreadful. The mode feels like NBA Jam. I have been playing Myteam online since NBA 2k13, and this the worst it has ever been. Pardon my french, but the devs have really **** the bed this year. There has never been a lower skill gap than this year.

Playing 2k18 in Play Now Online, compared to 2k18 myteam supermax is akin to playing two completely different video games. 2k18 Play Now Online is a strategic, Sim chess match, which represents realistic basketball. 2k18 Myteam online "supermax" is akin to playing NBA Jam or NBA Hangtime from the late 90's. There is absolutely no skill gap in Myteam online gameplay this year whatsoever.

There have been bad years here and there for 2k in Myteam as it concerns online game play, but nothing like this year. This year, 2k LITERALLY rewards low IQ players by allowing contested 3 point shots, and heavily contested layups to fall at an embarrassing clip. If that wasn't enough, in this mode specifically, there is an ALARMING amount of occurrences with the blow-by animation popping up on drives by players. This animation DOES NOT OCCUR even a fraction as often in Play Now Online as it does in MyTeam Online.

In conclusion, this mode that has traditionally been one of my favorites year in and year out since 2k13; but it absolutely SUCKS this year. All I play is online head to head modes in 2k, and this is the WORST Myteam experience I have ever had. I have switched to Play Now Online since writing this post, and am having a blast. If 2k can't do the right thing, and fix this abomination of a Myteam mode, I likely will NOT continue in the future to play and support Myteam with any of my hard earned $ in the future.

What makes you think the developers don't know what they are doing?

They release Ilgauskas cards with 91 3 for God Shake. They want this arcade style.They believe it is good for profit

You could get a good squad early and be competitive all year long.

Yes, your opponent might had 10 95 rated players and you would have 2 93 players 1 94 and 2 91, along with 5 89 rated players but you could complete

I remember 2k16 I believe, I got Gold 89 Wall, award RIP (and award Mullin afterwards) LBJ/KD/AD and then I won Ewing, the final prize. I stuck to this team until March where I got Mitch Richmond as a SG.

Now you just can't do that. Whatever team you may assemble, it will be practically useless after 2-3 weeks.

And since the game will not reward you with equally good cards you need to buy packs. Cards are cheesiest and cheesiest.

The answer is simple...I've mentioned it multiple places now for several years...they need a mode in MyTeam for those of us who want some type of SIM game.

Just make it like SuperMax is now...but with way lower salary caps...and a higher difficulty level.

It's not complicated.

I would love such a mode. That's what I have always enjoyed about Myteam is that we get to play basketball with a hand-picked team of past and present players we choose. And for the most part, over the years the games have been staged at a difficulty where you can play smart sim ball and win 9/10 times over your opponent (lineups being relatively equal).

However, this year really is just a complete downturn when it comes to difficulty. This year in supermax 2k actively rewards low IQ basketball; and it is worse than I have ever seen it. There are still about 8 months left of 2k18 being active and relevant until 2k19 drops, and this mode is already dead.

Plus some clear ladder like in pno without silly points awarded for wins and losses that no one understands and also no silly ratings. You can't give every player a 90 3 point card because he scored 2 3pts in 2 tries. Moments cards should go
There should be the normal cards of pno updated at the same time as pno

Now thatpno has all time teams included, there is just no excuse for that

They say they want versatility in the game. What versatility is there with 7 versions of harden? If you can't afford the diamond, you go for the Amethyst or Ruby

Playing out of position should be banned. I am tired of seeking teams without pg. Players should have a primary and secondary position and that's it

While I really wish that all SM tiers were at Superstar and then maybe HoF at Diamond and PD, to me the main problem is the cycle-long OP nature of driving. And also the OP nature of double-teaming. The ease with which it is to knock a ball loose, force a jump ball, or at least force a dribble pick-up on a post-up player is a really serious problem, because it makes it very hard to punish players who run teams with Stretch 4's as Centers. Meanwhile, it's way too easy for them to punish a true big through ISO/P&R drives.

It's incredibly frustrating to lose to that sort of strategy, and it's no fun to engage in the same cheese.

MyTeam definitely has flaws...

The lack of a SIM gameplay/difficulty mode with some kind of realistic salary cap is the most glaring.

Wake up 2K! There are lots of players who want to play with a custom team they put together that mirrors a REAL NBA roster...and play against other squads that do the same.

Much like how Play Now Online has the tiers...why not do something similar in MyTeam?

Too many overpowered cards is another problem. However, I sort ofunderstand WHY 2K is doing it. They are simply responding to customer DEMAND when it comes to this.

It's what the lowest-common-denominator cheesy try-hard 2K gamers WANT.

FACT.

It helps them sell packs...which helps them sell VC...which makes them money.

In other years where 2K didn't offer these overpowered cards...they made LESS money...and players complained the mode was boring and didn't have enough content. To a vast majority of 2K gamers who play MyTeam "content" is overpowered cheeser cards that NEVER miss shots and can't be stopped from dunking on anyone and everyone.

It's the sad truth about the 2K "community"...it's mostly immature cheesers looking for the easiest way to cheese and troll people.

Completely disagree about positions.

Improve the gameplay and that no longer becomes an issue.

Turn on the TV and flip on an NBA game sometime...teams are using awkward lineups on a nightly basis. Restricting that in 2K is counterproductive.
