Funniest thing

So I started a new dynasty with the 49ers. And first preseason game, Alex Smith throws a pick 6 on his first pass (huge shocker there). Anyway, there was a holding called on my center..........the raiders accepted the penalty so I got the ball back. I absolutely lost it. Then I stopped laughing in time to watch Smith throw another pick 6. I freaking love this game.

Re: Funniest thing

That's not realistic, fix the sliders. Base sliders double ALL passing stats because the game is pass happy. That means twice as likely as well, so more interceptions, completions/yds/tds, more interceptions for tds. Players unrealistically break records frequently, like 2000+ yards receiving(never), 5500+yds(never)/56+td passing(never, 2 times 50+), 11+ interceptions by a defender(27 times, none since 1981), 4+ int for td(only 3 times in history, 3+ is only 28 times).

These are from that "goody's sliders (fixed)" post on the sliders page. They're the same for both cpu and human so no edge is gained. They just balance out the game, more realistic, not harder or easier. They help to keep most of the stats in check, as much as possible. Stuff like above is still technically possible(especially for a user), but they'd have to be the best player with the best coaches(4 out of 5 for 2 coaches at the position) and have mastered the best system for it. Its no longer just any qb in the mike martz or hammermill system, a bad qb will not perform so well anymore for him. A great one will still play like kurt warner though...

25 pass acc 50 pass block 25 catch 50 rb ability 75 run blocking
50 aware 25 knockdown 25 interceptions 75 block shed 25 tackle
100 fg p 75 fg a 75 punt power 100 punt a 50 ko power
Every penalty at 100 except clipping, holding, facemask, and def pi at 50.

Re: Funniest thing

wow... thats crazy then... did you just use 2 unlearned plays in a row against 2 mastered/learned plays? did you pick plays that were terrible for the defenses called? I mean it was preseason, but Ive never seen back to back pick 6s. Thats incredible. Like Im honestly interested to know why it happened now... Are your coaches terrible?

Re: Funniest thing

Well I mean the 49ers obviously don't have a great coach set, and I believe the plays were at least learned. And the defenses I always play against, rarely use plays that aren't mastered. I mean, I wouldn't call a play we hadn't practiced as a coach. The rest of the game was fine. Well half. I think he was like 6-11 for 88 yards or something like that. No tds, but the one recorded pick. So the sliders did balance out in the end like they are supposed to, it was just a funny sequence of events. And it was a 3rd and 2 after two 4 yards runs each. And the first play that was reversed was a basic spread quick slant, and the other was a created play, modified out of the split back texas play that usually is gold for me. In both situations, the defense loaded the box and brought 6 guys. The first I thought was golden, because what coach wouldn't be giddy about a shotgun quick slant play to the slot after a cover 0 but was thrown behind the wr right at the corner in man. And the texas play, it looked like another cover 0 out of the base and the throw was rushed from being under center. Olb just jumped the fb route and ran it back. Thinking like a coach after watching film, I should have stayed in the shotgun set, but even more analyzing, I should have had a better qb. lol
