Fat View Hungry Youtuber Targeting EA UFC 3 over MTs

Jim Sterling is trying to ruin this game's launch by trying to make it seem like the MTs in UT are breaking the entire game.

Sad, really, because the Devs did work hard on this game. But sadly, since he's a "big" Youtuber, people will jump on this hate bandwagon and ruin this game's launch.

With cards that expire this game has the potential to make a ton of money with MTs, I think.

I think Ultimate Team is dumb as hell, but the problem I have with UFC 3's MT coverage is that they talk like it's the only online game mode. Like, just ignore it.

Re: Fat View Hungry Youtuber Targeting EA UFC 3 over MTs

In the aftermath of Battlefront 2, it doesn't really matter how much of it is true. The reality is that anything that doesn't sound good in terms of balance, is going to blow up. It was to be expected.

EA was never going to get rid of any of their Ultimate Team modes. It makes them way too much money for that. It's too bad for EA UFC though, because it will be the first Ultimate Team featuring game to release after what happened with Battlefront 2. And you can bet everyone is going to get up in arms about it.

I don't really like the whole "Fat View Hungry Youtuber" thing. Doesn't have to be mentioned at all. The guy fights a fair fight and if you at all dislike what EA was trying to do with Battlefront 2, it is guys like him that put a stop to it.

My dislike for microtransactions have nothing to do with the respect I have for the passionate developers that put this game together. It still has to be said though, I do wish Jim Sterling would fact check because I don't know how much of what was said in the original article is even true at all.

But yeah, that will bring EA UFC 3 a lot of bad press, which is unfortunate because the game even in an unfinished state, is a lot of fun already. I hope the Ultimate Team earnings are worth it. Because this could get ugly in the reviews.

My main issue with Jim's video is that he presents it in a way as if microtransactions run rampant throughout the game and that you're screwed if you don't pay money. He negates the fact that there is only one mode in the game where microtransactions even exist. You can still play multiple online modes WITHOUT microtransactions, unlike Battlefront 2 where microtransactions basically dominated everything other than the campaign. He's acting as if ranked championships is the mode that has microtransactions in it, rather than Ultimate Team.

He's also reading from an article that is complaining about the striking in UFC 3, saying that it's unrealistic and that UFC 2 had far better and far more realistic striking. So clearly the source has no idea what they're even talking about, never mind Jim.

The article they reference in this video was complete and total horse sh-- if you actually read it. The person who wrote it clearly didn't even play the Beta, and just viewed Reddit or something, and made a compilation of all the complaints in the first 48 hours of the beta, to completely TRASH the game. It was an obvious takedown piece because of UFC's association with EA.

Like go ahead, talk about Ultimate Team, to me it's stupid and I don't take any part in it or anything like it in any game. But going after the new gameplay was just weak, because they clearly didn't know what they were talking about. Can you play offline modes without spending money? I assume that you absolutely can.

But on the other hand...it's not like EA doesn't have it coming.

Yeah. The guy had no idea what he was talking about. Anything he said about the gameplay wasn't true at all. But, the big sites all picked up on his part about the microtransactions, and now they'll keep rolling with it too.
