Although my GM wanted me to pick Matt Ryan, I have too much $$$ in J. Russell to even think that. Let alone he's only in his 2nd year. I have to see if I can make this work. Therefore after a bidding war between Denver, Baltimore, and Carolina, we opted to go with Carolina's deal with includes their 2008 pick #13, next year's 2009 1st round pick. They go ahead and select ROLB Keith Rivers.

Fast forward to the 13th pick. THE OAKLAND RAIDERS ARE ON THE CLOCK....

However once again we trade down. This time it's with the Baltimore Ravens. For this pick we get their 2nd round pick (#38), 6th round pick (#167) and their 2009 2nd round pick.

. The Jets trade their 29th overall pick to the Raiders for the following: 4th round pick (#101), 6th round pick (#167), and 2009 1st round pick. The OAKLAND RAIDERS promptly select Strong Safety Kenny Phillips.

ROUND 2 Begins Shortly. Fast forward and at #38 the OAKLAND RAIDERS are on the clock. And the pick is in.

Calais Campbell... Ahead of Quentin Groves. I was real close to pulling the trigger but his size and potential was too much to pass up.

With this pick, I decided to trade away both #54 and #55 to gather more later picks. #54 went to the Jaguars for their 3rd round pick (#71), 5th round pick (#154), and 2009 5th round pick. #55 went to the Patriots for their 2008 2nd round pick (#62) and 2009 7th round pick.

It was a good game and there is a lot to be excited about this team. Having Beast Mode on the offensive side, has shown alot of promise. Switching the offense to a Pistol attack has shown Jamarcus Russell athletic ability overall. The man can run! And the additions on the defensive side will definitely put the Raiders back on the map. Just to work on the passing defense part.
