The Raiders have traded (punted) away Pro Bowler Punter Shane Lechler to the Tennessee Titans for their 2008 2nd round draft choice (Pick #54)!

Re: COME AND GET IT! RISE OF DA RAIDERS (NFL Head Coach 09)

"WELCOME TO THE 2008 NFL DRAFT. MIAMI DOLPHINS ARE ON THE CLOCK!"

"AND WITH THE FIRST PICK IN THE 2008 NFL DRAFT, MIAMI DOLPHINS SELECT......

Spoiler

THE ST. LOUIS RAMS ARE ON THE CLOCK......

AND WITH THE SECOND PICK IN THE 2008 NFL DRAFT, THE ST. LOUIS RAMS SELECT.....

Spoiler

I WAS AFRAID OF THIS.... UGH.

AND WITH THE THIRD PICK IN THE 2008 NFL DRAFT, THE ATLANTA FALCONS SELECT.....
Spoiler

THE OAKLAND RAIDERS ARE ON THE CLOCK.

Spoiler

Fast forward to the 13th pick. THE OAKLAND RAIDERS ARE ON THE CLOCK....

However once again we trade down. This time it's with the Baltimore Ravens. For this pick we get their 2nd round pick (#38), 6th round pick (#167) and their 2009 2nd round pick.

Spoiler

FAST FORWARD AND THE JETS ARE ON THE CLOCK AT #29.
Spoiler

ROUND 2 Begins Shortly. Fast forward and at #38 the OAKLAND RAIDERS are on the clock. And the pick is in.

Calais Campbell... Ahead of Quentin Groves. I was real close to pulling the trigger but his size and potential was too much to pass up.

With this pick, I decided to trade away both #54 and #55 to gather more later picks. #54 went to the Jaguars for their 3rd round pick (#71), 5th round pick (#154), and 2009 5th round pick. #55 went to the Patriots for their 2008 2nd round pick (#62) and 2009 7th round pick.

At #62, the OAKLAND RAIDERS ARE ON THE CLOCK... The pick is in...

DeSean Jackson (GM's suggestion).

With the selection of Phillips, Campbell, and Jackson, now the Raiders are shaping up to be something alright. Day 2 of the NFL Draft starting soon....

Re: COME AND GET IT! RISE OF DA RAIDERS (NFL Head Coach 09)

And the 2008 draft has been completed.

Discussing the Oakland Raiders, multiple trades up and down resulted in the following players drafted, in addition to undrafted rookies signed after the draft:
Spoiler

ALL SIGNED BEFORE FIRST PRESEASON GAME AGAINST SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (D. MOORE was the last hold out).

NEXT UP!

First taste of action. The following is our depth chart. This will no doubt change with time as we'll be dropping players and adding new players. I have a feeling that there will be "steals" in the free agency market throughout the next few weeks.

It was a good game and there is a lot to be excited about this team. Having Beast Mode on the offensive side, has shown alot of promise. Switching the offense to a Pistol attack has shown Jamarcus Russell athletic ability overall. The man can run! And the additions on the defensive side will definitely put the Raiders back on the map. Just to work on the passing defense part.

Spoiler

Looking forward to game 2.

Note: New additions via free agency will be noted with players name typed in italicized format within depth charts which will be shared prior to each game.
